I've decided not to feel guilty about posting b/w images. Yeah!This is an image I've made for the Christian manga-styled comics webring, Cognatio, which will be updated soon. I told Ann I picked this character 'coz Gil has always been the oddball kid in KingdomCome. XD However, there's a part of me that wondered whether I've unsuspectingly made him look like some rich mobster/drug dealer/pimp's son. Hehehehe.....
The shading was something I was trying to imitate from the BlackCat manga (you know, those white patches on the blacksuit).

I intended it to be some sort of "crown of thorns" band. A friend of mine wears one, thus the inspiration (He bought it from Australia - ack, I want one too!) XD

His position as a misjudged character reminds me of myself and some of my buddies. Looking quite dapper in that suite Gil.

The tone? I can't remember exactly where I got it from (after all the trading and borrowing) but it's a pattern I have in Photoshop along with a few more tone sets. You wanna use tones, Saint? Man, I need to reorganize my tones...they're all over my hard drive. <.<;;
It'll be funny if visitors to Cognatio think "How does a character looking like that end up in a Christian manga?!" XD
