Well I guess I've sort of gotten used to having to stay on my toes with things, having lived on a farm my whole life haha you never know what will happen sometimes XD constantly working with the animals and keeping things running smooth.

Thank you! and yeah I had to self-publish. For several years I've been wanting to go to a publisher, but never really got the chance or got bold enough lol I am a really paranoid person and I was worried about getting ripped off or something. 

So I self-published through Amazon, it's really not that bad the only problem I've been running into is just getting out there. It's really been exercising my marketing skills, haha not to mention the stupid mistakes I keep finding it's super embarrassing but I mean it's all apart of growing. 

anyway, yeah I really think that's the truth XD I know so many people who want to do it, some say they just don't have time (neither did I really, but I had to sacrifice a lot...) and others just say they don't have the commitment. However, I really do believe anyone can do it, they just need to have the attitude lol and a lot of it did take patience and getting help and advice from others, in real life and online, but in the end, it's worth it. Even though I haven't sold many, I am just happy I finally got it done after five years of all those long nights... 

But I mean, you could self-publish through Amazon, Lulu.com, or CreateSpace. Personally I go with Amazon though, they offer 70% royalty (however the paperbacks will be different, they cut out the printing prices for you, so you only get a certain amount of money back) 

But Amazon also offers Kindle editions, and that's nice too. The royalty is better generally through Kindle. 

However, Amazon does not offer publishing hardbacks, they suggest for you go to through Lulu for Hardbacks.

Yeah, marketing is going to be my weakness, lol. It doesn't feel right getting your book out there/advertising it, but I guess you kind of have to. I've been reading that building hype for it on social media is helpful, so I'm considering starting but that's so intimidating. I also fear finding stupid mistakes, but it's bound to happen. ^^'

And what you said is true! Attitude is important. The trouble with writing a novel is that it takes so long; it literally just takes a long time to write. I'll be like, "k, I'mma write a chapter tonight," but then underestimate how long that actually takes. My problem is that I get distracted. 

What are your books about? Or which one's your favourite? (Ha, if I can even ask that!)

Lmao I do the same thing! XD I have a horrid memory XD people always wonder why I have so many photos uploaded to Google Photos, it's because I save everything because I'm paranoid I'm gonna forget or lose it haha I think it has mostly developed from losing chapters to storms and power outages and programs shutting down and devices crashing  

Yes! Very true! You have to sell yourself and it is sort of embarrassing and I always am paranoid I sound cocky or arrogant and I don't want to, but when making a name for yourself, sometimes you have to lol like in a job interview. Yes! It is! Believe me, I know XD I have already published a few editions of my books because the first editions of them were so full of mistakes I wanted to curl up in a ball and hide and die XD I was so embarrassed, haha but I mean it's part of a growing process XD

Oh, I know! lmao I had to sacrifice free time to spend with friends and even family... I can't count how many times I gave up spending quality time with the people I care about to write... I am sort of frustrated with myself for it, especially in younger years too because it was like I was trying to grow up too fast and well it's funny because I remember always saying "write now, before you grow up and lose good young imagination" and yet, I was doing that too myself just by forcing myself into always writing. It was like I disciplined myself into a dull and always serious and deep-thinking teen and I think it honestly freaked some people out haha 

So, I have my regrets from it, but yet now that they are published I believe that at least makes me feel a bit better about it all. 

And oh, SAME! XD I am soooo easily distracted xD, In all honesty, some days I shouldn't be driving, it gets so bad XD 


lol, I'm just gonna give you a link because this comment is already super long XD sorry about that, haha and I just threw together some info on them for people, because well when they ask me on spot, usually I have no idea what to say and my mind goes blank lmao, so here is a journal on it,  Information on my Books :3Recently, I’ve had some people asking me for some more information on my books, and I tend to not know what to say haha but after talking to SugarRu5h I feel like I had explained them then the best XD so here is a practical rundown of how I discussed my books.
 
“Anyways, some books to maybe get an idea of similarities, do you like Harry Potter, Eragon, Warriors (cat series by Erin Hunter)? or even Hunger Games?
My books I have been writing since I was in eighth-grade, around when I was finishing the Warriors series (until she started writing more of them, haha I need to catch back up) and well, she really inspired me and so I started writing small things here and there and then I got more into it.
 
Anywho, the first book, The Deity Jewels: Part One, is about a girl named Evaleana. And of course of all days to be dragged into an adventure, far beyond the small village she grew up in, was her birthday. And so as she is traveling the world of Trindavin, meeting al

Personally, one of my favorites is, Shadow of Secrets, it's almost 600 pages and was one that I believe at the time, I poured a lot of myself and personal experience into it. So, it really means a lot to me, it sort of helped me through some of the things going on at the time, so I think that is why it means so much to me.

True! Google photos is wonderful, haha. And omg, losing files like that is so awful. I once lost a summative I had spent over a month on for school and I had to do it over. Now I have my stories ad projects saved everywhere. xD

Well, at least you were disciplined, lol. I always hear jokes from people that they're judged for being a writer because it looks like they're doing nothing. I've never experienced it until recently, with my parents. 

Telling others about your stories is the hardest thing for some reason. Someone asks me what it's about and I choke up. I can write it out, sure, but explaining it in person? Your stories sound super cool, though! I just read the preview for the first book, and your descriptions are quite lovely.

Thank you! haha sorry for the late reply, I've been at 4-H Camp lol lots of tears shed, and I had a lot of them actually asking about my books XD 

I think one of the things that have really made me feel better about myself with my writing is the fact that some people see me, hear me, or hear of me and think that I'm just a "dumb hick" ... one girl at camp was mocking me and saying that "I'm you and the only two words I learned in kindergarten were "y" and "e" " (because I love to yell YEE-YEE because it's fun and it makes so many people mad but also laugh and I love making people laugh and as for the people that get mad, well I'm sorry but I am a country girl and I love being my crazy fun-loving self and that's just what I do. So many kids remembered me sticking out in their memory purely because of "yeeyee" so I guess it's in a way become my thing... I don't know how I feel about it all anymore lol I have my pride and it can be a weakness at times, but hey I am who I am and some people just refuse to accept me and I guess that's just for the better... I was honestly shocked by how many people stood up for me and pointed out that I had written books and that I wasn't just some dumb hick. by the end of camp, several of the people that used to make fun of me all the time for yelling that was yelling it too and asking me to keep doing it. It was almost like a weird praise XD as dumb as that sounds haha

Or the stereotypical image of a "geek" or a "nerd" or a "freak" or someone who has troubles with emotions? like seriously, it's all so messed up! 

((Honestly, those are some of the reasons I have an odd urge to write books that have a deeper meaning aimed for the impact stereotypes have on individuals and society as a whole. Idk why but I love to think deeply on things... prolly cuz I over-think constantly and its made me into a sometimes preachy, other times silent thinker XD Idk how to explain it but it's always one extreme to another with me it seems haha))

But yeah lol I had to write an essay for my AP Language class on Stereotypes and that was one of the topics I did was "hicks" because well, there is a difference between "white trash, hicks, country kids, farm kids, rednecks, and hillbillies" as weird as that may sound haha there is a difference between each of them. It makes me sort of mad that people continue to generalize and label people like that tho... but no one listens to whining about it, so why not just go with it and be damn proud and show them that it's whatever and that it don't matter? that's the attitude I've tried to have for years. 

but anyway, haha sorry I had to rant to someone about that... it just boggles me that humans are so ridiculous XD although, I have to admit I know I'm not innocent here, I have my flaws and times when I do stuff that I shouldn't... But I guess that's just the whole "nobody is perfect" phrase there. Idk lol sorry now I'm just jabbering like I do. It's no wonder I lose my voice all the time.

But yes I know exactly what you mean by in person mind going blank! goodness, it drives me nuts! XD

Hmm, interesting. That's awesome that those people ended up changing their opinions; there's so much judgement all the time. *shakes head* That's great that you can just pull out a full novel and be like like, "bro, could you do this? No." xD And actually, like you said, it's really fun  to take stereotypes and mess with them a bit in writing. I have one character who's super popular and girly but she's also smart and an awesome friend, because I HAVE met people like that. 

Oh goodness, I don't know all the differences, haha. I know there are differences, but not what they are. That's great that you're educating people; I think it's important. That's like how we Canadians are generalized as all being polite, which is super sweet, but not always true. xD (Obviously not as harmful, but you know what I mean).

And no, it's cool. I like talking to people. You're really nice to talk to, actually!

I've been here four years, and I totally get it; it seems like I've been here forever but it also seems like such a long time. It's been neat to see some people's styles evolve over the years.
