-Bio: Duke, named after his late but great Grace, the Duke of Sodor, is one of the oldest and wisest engines on the Island of Sodor, whom many engines large and small hail as a hero. He is a very experienced engine that is always looking out for the younger and more inexperienced engines, serving as a mentor to them, especially to Peter Sam, who used to be known as Stuart, and Sir Handel, Falcon. He always maintains a head-teacher attitude most of the time, and sometimes he can be occasionally grumpy, especially if said young engine is making things difficult for him, even stating “that would never suit his grace” if he views anything wrong, as he views the rules in high regards, but he still means well, and can correct any of the younger engines when wrong. He is valiant, hardworking, and hopeful engine with a great sense of optimism, and always manages to soldier and prove his worth, especially after spending decades locked up in a shed buried by earth and weathering after his old railway was shut down. Duke is still proud to live up to his name, and is there to help guide any young engine, and keep them order, as everyone has such a great amount of respect for him, even Peter Sam & Sir Handel, whom despite their cheekiness towards him, care so much about him ever since the times they had back kn Mid-Sodor. They both would never imagine life without their “granpuff”.
-Artist's Commentary: Here is the next narrow gauge engine, and this time it's "the Duke". Just like many other long time Thomas fans, I am so upset and confused about his absence, as his was just short lived, and the episodes he spoke in where just adaptations from his book, "Duke the Lost Engine", and his debut for the TV Series was way back in 1995, seriously, 23 years ago, and here in 2018, we don't even know the whereabouts of this character. So what gives, "where the hell has Duke been for so long?" I know that Duke's model was used for Bertram, with Smudger's face, but let's be honest, his character really didn't do that much, and Britt and David created for merchandise I'm sure. They should've kept Duke! And even if they did bring him back, Mattel is going to just use him for fan service for their own selfish advantages. But I have such a high respect for this mighty old engine who soldiers on, even in darkest hours, especially surviving in a shed buried under earth, but he still holds onto his hope that's he'll be rescued. In my series, Duke will have plenty of speaking roles in any Skarloey Railway related stories, and he will still have that same persona of being strict and rule abiding, but also kind-hearted and heroic. Compared to other old engines like Edward, Toby, Skarloey, Rheneas, etc., Duke is another example of a great old character, and even Thomas1Edward2Henry3 had brought up a lot of great points about him, as really is the Duke for the Thomas the Tank Engine franchise, and even for us, "our grace".
Thomas the Tank Engine is owned by HIT Entertainment/Mattel.

Hmm...I really think they should get Keith Wickham, after all, he can do a really good deep elderly voice.
