Mr. Lott's sudden sprees of purchasing two or three new additions for the Grange, without warning or forethought, were quite incurable. If even Maya, who'd been there so much longer before any of the others, couldn't convince him to stop, what could Gowan, the dwarf, and Bo, the cripple, do about it?

Well, they could take care of those Mr. Lott so eagerly bought.

These ones, at least, had a purpose already in place. Unlike the slightly less fortunate critters who came to the Grange without anything more than some feature Mr. Lott thought worth buying, these were all critters meant to drive, and the Grange had built up some sort of readiness about driving. Aside from the sulty that Maya could rig up for the different ways Bo drove, they had no real carriage, yet. (They wouldn't know it until it happened, but Mr. Lott was about to take care of that little problem soon enough.) But Bo had all the knowledge most necessary to get the new arrivals put to work.

Of course, they could not jump straight into pulling, not with all three critters being green. They had to start with the basics. Django and Vice would pull together, and so they had to be proven to get along in every way, especially when being handled. Gamora, on the other hand, was wildborn, and needed to become well-adjusted to being handled at all.

All things considered, the first steps went quite smoothly.
