Description Even though each half yields a cohesive form, they resist merging and tear apart. The object appears functional, but the rift prevents this from being true.

I enjoyed this project. I had these grand schemes, but most failed, lol. These plates are the part of the project that actually came to fruition.

Essentially, I made two different plates with separate clay bodies (varying in iron content, mainly). I cut a third off of each plate and glued the cuts to the opposing clay body. Each frankenstein-esque plate was then fired and glazed like normal.

Wheel-thrown and altered stoneware fired to cone 10 in reduction. Clear glaze. About 13-14" in diameter.

If the animation could be improved, let me know how. I don't normally use the .gif format and I don't know all of the limits that can be pushed or broken.
