Edit: To all of you whom are saying that 'Monday' is named after the moon, I am very aware of that, the joke is about it being named 'Monday' instead of 'Moonday' which sort of took away from the Moon's glory. Hope it's clearer now.

After reading all the comments looks like here in Finland all days have very boring names - they don't mean anything! Those are only badly translated nonsense words from the Swedish language. And in Swedish the day's names actually mean something.

Yeah that sucks! Like we have "Keskiviikko" which basically means "Middle week" In the place of wednesday... What the heck is the point of this? I mean yep it's in the middle of the week yeah but seriously.

No. Keskiviikko (wednesday) is not middle of the week because here in Finland the week starts at Monday! So 'torstai' is actually the middle of the week here. In some countries the first day of the week is Sunday (sunnuntai) so then 'keskiviikko' would make sense.
