A short visual tutorial to help those who are a little confused/unsure about how to submit to #PhotographersClub .
Please excuse the poor image quality. It got that way after I converted it to a .gif file

Hey there, I'm sorry, I've been away from dA for a while. I tested to see if this method still works and when I tested it out, it did. Perhaps it was a bug at that time? Also, we do not do gallery submissions like the other groups, so following the tutorials of the others might not be very useful.

Might you explain it to me so I can do it as well? Followed the tutorial as you did, but the same exact thing happened.

Go to the home page of the "photographer's club". Β Click that gold star that says "suggest a Fav". Β Then, look over to the upper right portion of your screen and click the box that says "+ suggest a fav". Β That would bring you to the screen where you can choose a photo from your gallery, etc. Β That's the only way I have submitted a photo for review.Β

This is the most confusing, redundant group I have encountered on DA so far.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. For most people it takes a bit of getting used to because we use a very different featuring method. We aim to allow only the best in our gallery, while still giving all submissions a spot in the collections. This was our solution to avoid over-spamming of our watchers' inboxes and still give a chance to all members to showcase their work. Hey there, yes, you could do it like that and should see the option to select a fav, or you could submit directly from our main page. Were you able to submit?

Yes, I did but I did it the way the tutorial suggested so I'm unsure to where exactly I submitted my entry.

A query for you fine folks: as we submit by suggesting a fave, am I correct in assuming that there's no way to see "accepted/declined" in the "correspondence messages" tab? If I'm correct in this assumption, how are we notified if items are accepted or declined after submission?

Hi there Erik,
You are right, you will not get a correspondence message in your inbox. The only way to see if your submission has been added is to check the collection regularly. We accept all submissions into favourites, as long as they are relevant to the theme! If you haven't seen your submission added after a few days, then send us a note. Hope that helps to clear things up a bit

Hey there, so sorry for the late reply. If you only see "leave the group" then that means that submissions are closed at that time. To see when submissions open, please make sure you have a look at our weekly blog! Hope that still helps

I want to submit my old photo but it says that: This item has already been submitted to the group.
So I cannot submit it to new theme that fits its category?

Hey there, in the favourites system, you'll need to find the folder that you submitted to and give us a link to that page (not your deviation link) so we can remove it for you.

Thanks! the problem is that I submitted it before to a different theme but was declined. So i cannot find it in the favourites system.

Are you absolutely sure it was declined? The only time we decline a photo is if it doesn't fit our theme. If the photo was declined then you still would have been able to submit to the new folder.
In most cases the photo was accepted, but just overlooked. Did you check the whole collection folder? Do you remember what folder it was? Also, what photo did you want to submit?

but if i want to submit to a contest ( the freestyle one ) what folder in your galery do i have to click on? or i just cllick in suggest a fave and upload it?

Just click on "suggest a fav". There is only ever one folder open at a time. Freestyle is not a contest btw
