Ok first of all, I’m not an expert on wig styling nor has anyone taught me about this. I actually just saw a reference picture of how the wig looks like when it was done (not during the process of styling) and I just tried it for myself.We will work of Terra Brandford’s wig. Because I needed to learn how other cosplayers got their ponytails that high haha! Naturally, many professionals would tell you to wear a short wig first and clip-on a ponytail extension.
That, of course, would look a lot better right? But only if you’re in a hurry or want to make it look neat. Plus, that’s two wigs, it could cost you. I chose to do it the natural way, because I assure you, it is POSSIBLE. So let’s start!

Len has shorter hair right? Hmm, it shouldn't be a problem since it won't carry so much weight. You can actually just tie the high-ponytail with doing the criss-cross method (stop at step# 6)

well instead of tying the first half ponytail in the center, you can tie it sideways and just do the same procedure on that side

How much was your wig? And what seller did you get it from? I want to do this but I'm scared my wig won't be full enough to actually make a ponytail;-;

oh I got this wig from a seller in China years ago. I don't remember how much, but it wasn't as full as I thought it would be either.
That's why this tutorial will be really useful for the thin wigs because its purpose is to cover the wefts & wig frame inside from showing.
And as long as the wig you want to try this tutorial on is double the length of your desired length. Do you have your wig now?

Hi ! I wanted to know if you had a similar method to do Lucy's ponytail in Fairy Tail ? I really like how, when doing it your way, it shows that it's actually the hair on the wig that has been tied, instead of a ponytail that "comes out of nowhere" because it's just a hairclip ^^ Anyway, keep doing what you're doing, because it's awesome <3

now to make it poof up, i did a similar pony to my Misty (pokemon) wig. i tied the pony first with elastic band, but make sure to make it a bit loose because you'll want space to open a small slit right above the elastic. Then you turn the pony UNDER and it should come out the hole like a plant sticking out. Tighten the pony by pulling the wig to poof it up~!
