Description
"Sexuality is a choice? Okay... So when did you decide to be straight?"Most scientists today agree that sexual orientation is the result of a combination of biological, hormonal, emotional, and environmental factors - meaning that there are many factors that contribute to a person's sexual orientation. Most agree that sexual orientation is not a choice, and it cannot be changed.
Still, some people claim that sexuality is a choice, and that homosexuals and bisexuals are simply choosing to sexually deviate from the 'norm' of heterosexuality.
Point is, sexuality is not a choice, no more than our skin color is a choice, or our natural hair color. It's just a part of who we are, and people who claim they can change are just fooling themselves. That's all I've got to say for now on this topic.

God isn't sending anybody to Hell for the trials and temptations He gives them. He does, however, have a list of do's and do-not's, n stuff.Β

I'm strait because I was taught to live by the bible, and in the bible it says a man and a woman are supposed to be together, and I agree with that strongly. I just hate when gay or biosexual people are treated like their not people, because they are.

I absolutely don't think sexual orientation is a choice, but I don't believe you're born with it either. I think it's just an ordinary preference, just sexual. The reason why I believe you're not born with it is the same why I don't believe that you're born with an affection to red hair. And red hair can also be a sexual preference

JewelyCat In reply to Enemom [2014-02-09 14:10:44 +0000 UTC]
I hope you're joking.Β
"Β Bi means attraction to two genders, "
Let me tell you a thing
It's SEXuality, not GENDERality, and sex and gender are two different things. Forget gender, it has nothing to do with what we're talking about.
There are 2 sexes, male and female.Β
"you have a preference for one or the other."
That's only true in some people
"Pansexual includes everyone,"
Pan means "all"
Bi means "two"
So, pansexuality is sexual attraction to all sexes,
and bisexuality is sexual attraction to two sexes.
But... there are only two sexes. So all IS two. See what I'm talking about?

Enemom In reply to JewelyCat [2014-02-09 14:27:13 +0000 UTC]
Words cannot comprehend the stupidity I'm seeing.Β
Sexual attraction determines the gender you are attracted to, because that is who you want to have sex with. Bi means preference, pan means all. Sexual attraction plays into the attraction of which gender you're attracted to. Clear enough?Β

JewelyCat In reply to Enemom [2014-02-09 14:40:53 +0000 UTC]

Gender and sex are different.
" Bi means preference, pan means all.Β "
Holy fuck does a quick google search not prove my point?
Bilingual? Two languages?Β
Bicycle, two wheels?
Bisexual, two sexes.
Pan is a prefix meaning "all".Β
Pancontinental, across all continents.
Pansexual, all sexes.
Sex and gender are different; gender is not inherently connected to oneβs physical anatomy.Β Β
Sex is the state of being male, female, or intersex. This is what you're born with, and cannot be changed.
Gender is what you identify as, such as male, female, intersex, genderfluid, or more.
I understand that "pansexuals" may even date transsexuals, but this is just offensive to claim that trans- people aren't "real" men and women and need their own sexuality just to identify people who will date them. They identify as male or female as well, and should be treated as such.

No, they don't. "Pan" and "Bi" are two different terms. They don't mean the same thing. "Pan" means "All" and "Bi" means "Two"/"Both".

JewelyCat In reply to Ugly0Is0Beautiful [2014-01-01 18:44:45 +0000 UTC]
Seriously?
There are 2 sexes. Sex and gender? 2 different things.
BiSEXual, PanSEXual. Take a hint.Β
Yes, I know that pansexual people "Date everyone, even transgenders," but guess what? Transgenders identify as one sex. Male or female.Β
So, in this case, "Two" IS "all".Β

...Okay, look. I'm not trying to start a fight or offend anyone, but hear me out here.
You are saying there are two sexes. Okay, fair enough. However, your argument is merely a statement on how YOU interpret words.
Transgendered, gender-fluid, a-gender, even intersexed. Are you telling me these are the same things? That all of them only identify as one gender? That if a man is transitioning as a woman he should only identify as a woman and as such only be liked by people who "Only like women"?
Two may be all with how YOU are looking at it, and in some ways that's good and in some ways it's not.
π: 0 β©: 1
JewelyCat In reply to Ugly0Is0Beautiful [2014-01-01 19:38:42 +0000 UTC]
No, but they identify as either a male or a female. It's a fact. If a male feels like a female, and he is making the transition, he will identify as a *woman*. Yes, straight guys *can* like transgenders, Β and it's a little offensive that we need another pretty term just for people who will date them.
Bisexual people will also date transgenders, it's a matter of personal preference, which does NOT have to do with liking both or "all" sexes.Β

I partially agree with what you're saying, but what about omnisexual? It means that we don't believe in gender and don't see it in people. Would that still be the same thing as bisexual and pansexual, considering the fact that we don't like both 'genders' or 'sexes', we just don't believe in identifying with them?

Ugly0Is0Beautiful In reply to JewelyCat [2014-01-01 23:40:33 +0000 UTC]
Eh, you know what I get what you're saying. I think pansexuality is just the opposite of asexuality; most pans don't usually care as much what their partner identifies as while bisexuals like one or the other at a time for the most part. It's more... encompassing? I can't think of the term.
However, I also think just *ignoring* a whole sexuality just because you don't believe it's necessary is a bit... Prick-ish. People have opinions.
But I think I understand your point a little better, so thanks for backing up your opinion. I've never really realized the amount of belief that could go in either side.

well it isnt genetic. when a male is in the womb, the female body senses it as a foreign object, and feminizes it. part of said feminization is attraction to males. the more male fetses (and eventualy humans) develope, the more accostumed the female body is accustumed to this feminization, so the more males are born in succession, the more likely one is to be gay.
in human speak, moms make guys like other guys.

If it was a choice, why do millions of gay/bi/lesbian/transgender get bullied but still STAY gay, hmm? Don't you think they would change to straight if they could? I'm sure all the homosexual teens that committed suicide would have changed if they could. You can't make yourself like a gender that you simply aren't attracted to.Β

THEY ARE NOT CHOICES.
First off, there is basicly a homosexual gene,it's when you get more hormones and genes from your mother, that your father,vise-versa for females they got more male hormones and genes from their father. For straights they usually have a balanced amount of hormones from each side.I might be wrong but that's what I've been taught.

You were taught wrong. You receive a singleΒ X or Y chromosome from your father, and an X from the mother: always. If you receive more than one by accident, your body comes out looking weird.
