I wonder how many butthurt defences I'll get from this.Hurr hurr, I wanted to join in the fun!~
Since nobody ever reads the artist comments anyway, I'll just say this - I don't actually hate Hatsune Miku. I'm a vocaloid fan, however, I think that Hatsune Miku is more than a bit overrated. For one, I think that Meiko sounds better than Miku in general. Two, sometimes Miku's voice comes off as whiney and annoying for me. Three, her fanbase largely consists of fantards who like her for her appearance - her voice be damned. Once again, there are some songs that she "sings" that I like, but overall she's an overrated software.

Honestly, I have Miku's voice. I'm addicted to the lesser-known fanmade Vocaloids though. A lot of people have made much better songs than the popular ones out there. Most have english subtitles and wicked beats.

Yeah. My favorite is an UTAU called Kasane Teto, but my favorite vocaloid would be Kaito or Meiko. (It's tied between them both)
Many of the lesser knowns, as you have said, have kickass songs. Alot of the more well known ones, like the Dissappearance of Hatsune Miku, als suck ass.

btw, would you recommend Vocaloids to someone who was Anime challenged? (I've tried so many, but can't get too interested. The only few have been recent anime (around 1990s and 2000.).)

Sort of like that, except for a dumber and more prejudiced audience.
It's not an anime, but a singing software. They're basically singing or talking programs. I can link you a few songs, and you can decide from there whether or not you are interesed. It's not so much an anime thing as it is a J-Pop thing with an anime face.

I never understood Miku's popularity. Her voice is way too high-pitched and her design is not much different then billions of other anime characters. :/
Miku isn't all bad, though.....some of the fantards that claim they sound just like Miku are too fun to watch.

What's Append? Sorry for not knowing, but the Japanese ones are the most common.
To be honest, the only English ones I've heard of are Sweet Anne and Sonica.

Ugh....my friend linked me to a video once...at the end all it was was "Wa-ta-shi, wa-ta-shi, wa-ta-shi," over and over and OVER again. So. Fucking. Annoying. And it doesn't even make sense, in English it'd be "I, I, I, I..." all the weaboos thought it was awesome and claimed to have walked around the house the rest of the day scaring the hell out of their family by saying "Watashi?"

I reccognise that song. Yeah, it sucked. I think the original intent was to make Miku seem batshit crazy, but in reality, it just made her seem annoying and repetative.
Reminds me of a couple people I know. They'll deny up and down that they're weaboos, yet when the Miku comes a rollin'...

I haven't listened to many songs by them, but the few I have weren't very impressive...I don't really see what the whole fuss is about over this thing. Actually, the only Japanese musician I ever listen to regularly is Kanon Wakeshima....it just sounds nice.

There are some good ones, but most are shit. Or at least, shit compared to the original versions of the songs.
I still like vocaloid, but...yeah. I don't listen to any one musician regularly when it comes to Japanese music, or at least, not any living ones and if they are living I almost never listen to more than one of their songs.

Yeah, of course I don't listen to Japanese songs nearly as much as English songs....there's one kid in my class who has almost nothing but Japanese music on his iPod...but then again he is Japanese, so he can't really be a weaboo.

Our definitions of "good songs" might or might not differ greatly, but I could link you to some of my favorites if you'd like and we could see if you like those. If not, I wouldn't honestly blaim you. Most of the songs sound better when the Nico Nico dubbers sing them instead anyway.

Sure. I'm a bit picky about songs, but I don't have a problem with just giving them a shot. Only when my friends keep linking me to nonsensical screamo metal shit and ranting about how awesome it is...
I only know one or two weaboos....and they're my friends, so I'm not allowed to make fun of them :I Not that I don't have plenty of friends who love anime/manga. But they're all Asian. Therefore not weaboo.
And I see plenty of people dressed like sluts and wannabe gangsters...there's also the group of emo/punk/scene/whatever kids hanging about under the trees by my locker.
