It is ironic that you post this tonight because I'm starting my final project tomorrow and the way your face is portrayed is exactly how I want to blur the face on my painting.

I really like how this single image tells a story. As a viewer, I know you've just entered your apartment just based on the way you are posed with your hand touching the doorknob. Great composition and excellent use of contrast. Is this a print or a scanned negative? I really would enjoy a print of this. Perhaps a swap?

This is a print although a lot of brightness/contract adjustments were made in Photoshop...with the fogged film I couldn't get the actual print looking nearly this good. I'd be almost embarrassed for someone else to have such a bad print of mine haha but maybe if I were to reprint it I could do a better job...

Are you coming in, or are you leaving? It looks like maybe you're pulling the door closed or maybe you're stepping inside, with the placement of your fingers on the door it's impossible to say. It probably didn't occur to you and you weren't meaning to do anything with the idea at all haha but it's the first thing that struck me about it. If this were mine I'd put it in conceptual! I really the light distribution, it's spotty and all over the place; even though the backlight should be harsh it looks diffused somehow. Lost details indeed though, your face is only traces and it looks as if you smeared butter on the lense there was well as well as the top part of your blouse since everything else is more or less sharp, especially hand/doorknob area.

I think the more of your photographs I see, the more I want a square-format camera and a darkroom again.

PS. The title "Back to Boston" is actually a lyric from a song that I had stuck in my head that is kind of about coming or going, but you couldn't tell that without hearing the song...so we did kind of have the same idea in mind

I often read into your photographs/paintings without ever really knowing if they're about that I think they might be...so even if by pure concindence, I'm happy I got it right at least once

You should, square format is great Although I really hope my camera doesn't have a light leak...the reason it looks like there's butter smeared only on the top half of me is because the film is only fogged straight down the middle, horizontally...the highlights came through all right, but any details in the shadowed areas were totally lost...so all that smudgyness is just from me trying to dodge the areas in with photoshop...Because it wasn't fogged down the sides explains why my hand is still so sharp.

This was actually just the last shot on the roll of film and I just took it quickly before heading to the darkroom, I didn't really expect much from it But most of my photos that I think of conceptually don't get their concept until after they're developed.

Well a light leak isn't terrible, you can fix that easily enough. I saw some prints with similar fogging from a TLR once so I think the seals are your problem. I might be wrong but the seals are probably old (original) on the 124G anyway and bound to come apart at a bad moment. I needed some seals myself, so I just ordered some that should fit yours exactly also, so when they come I can just mail them to you, or maybe if next week works out I can just give them to you when I see you if they come by then
