Description
sorry about the typos and missing letters here and there!!! XD lolOk, so this is a crappy "tutorial".. It's just to show how I sometimes work when I draw.
Usually I do all the sketching in just one layer, and then go right to the lineart..
And also; I did this just for the lulz...
I mean, I can't even draw humans, at least not well enough to make a tutorial XD
aw well..
Feel free to ask me any question you might have

I think you are a liar, because you can OBVIOUSLY draw humans totally awesomely well! And I really like studying this kind of tutorials, but then I get depressed beacuse I'm not good at drawing, and I'm too lazy to practise xD

I agree . . . The head/face is the hardest part to draw (on Ed, at least). D:

it's certainly not the best tutorial, but i find it interesting to see how you work. and i find it best to draw characters naked first as well! always get the weirdest looks from people who watch....but honestly, it's so hard to put clothes on a body that doesn't exsist!
did you shade digitally or traditionally?

do you do all the drawing on paper first then put it on photoshop to line it and shade it? or is it all done on photoshop?

This is awesome! Thank you. I've worked in layers before, but it's far more important than I've realized. I should play around with drawing some stuff, and see if I can learn a thing or two.
I don't think I'll ever fancy myself an artist, but meh, you don't know something till you try, I guess.

with the shading, what do u do exactly? you working in photoshop? I always have so much trouble with sharding. could you do a tutorial?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
nocturnalMoTH In reply to MrJayHeadPhones [2010-02-06 16:14:59 +0000 UTC]
pick a color (light blue is a good color :3 ) and set the layer to multiply - that way you won't mess up the lineart you've drawn
I use the brush tool; the first one of the brush tools available. This is also the one I use for the lineart, but it's great for this type of shading too
Was that helpful in any way?
I'd love to help out, but I don't know how to teach people how to do the shading.. I guess you'll just have to learn by observing how light affects where the shadows go. That's what I've done. But I'm sure there are some good books out there too that explains it in more detail than I can
