Description
Yet another reason why I prefer to call myself a casual MLP FIM fan. Many bronies who spout this mantra often don't live up to it. When they say it, I will often assume they mean the opposite. This phrase means nothing to me because it got trampled.Ever see a picture of a humanized pony? Notice how bronies will attack artists who draw the mane six as anything other than straight, cisgendered, white, skinny females.
No, that's not loving or tolerant to "take a stand against forced diversity". What is "forced diversity" anyway? To them, it's when anyone draws Fluttershy as (for example) of middle eastern descent in a hijab just for fun.
To me, it's when you actively force headcanon onto people. Most of the artists being attacked aren't forcing diversity. They're drawing the ponies as how they imagined them for FUN. Plain and simple FUN. Since there is no canon of what humanized ponies look like, there's no wrong interpretation.
In my conclusion, this whole "forced diversity" thing sounds more like people not wanting to acknowledge the existence of people/cultures/lifestyle/whatever outside of their comfort zone, let alone think of it as a beautiful thing. Unfortunately, I think this xenophobic mindset isn't limited to the series. Worse yet, some bronies act out on this insecurity (I've heard stories of female cosplayers being harassed for having differing opinions or for being overweight).
So much for "love and tolerate".
Oh, and I don't care if any rabid bronies come raging, it's just more lulz and ammo for me.

Well ho would you depict them cause it's an American cartoon so their not going to be Muslim as many Americans despise Islam they have white voices (because of actors) in EQG they are very skinny so the skinny white person depiction is accurate for the mane 6

Really? I've never seen any Bronies attack people for drawing the ponies as non-whites. That of course, doesn't mean it hasn't happened... This is really sad. Well I'm going to continue drawing Pinkie and Vinyl as African Americans, Rarity as Asian and Twilight, Fluttershy and Octavia as mixed-race. Pthh I suck at humans which is probably why I don't get any of these comments.Β

you know what thank you for posting this. I've been waiting for someone to speak up about this. the whole " love and tolerate" has been nothing but a saying just to make the bronies look like a nice fandom. but we know the truth that all fandoms go bad eventually, soon the brony fanbase will end up like the sonic fanbase.Β
as far as force diversity... i had to ask someone what that even means, their definition was like this. putting people of a different race in a place that has one race into make diverse for no reason what so ever.Β
the problem with saying that with humanize mlp fim characters is because they are ponies not humans. but when someone makes a character black , one of the question i see is why is this character black?. like it needs a reason to be black. that's like asking some in real life why are you this color. its probably a default to think if they had natural human skin color they would be white, not that i have a problem with that. its just when every one makes a big deal about. if i were to draw the mlp fim characters i dont know not american , but lets see maybe European no one would notice. because of the light skin , but only if they have brown skin they would assume they're black. not every with brown skin is black. you'll come across comments that try to justify their logic of why the character should be white. comments like" the voice actors are white, twilight cant dance and she studies so she white or Asian, pinkie has blue eyes she white. rarity has white fur so that means she's white, fluttershy has long hair and has soft personalty she white. and applejack has the most stereotypical reason of them all ...American. this is why i am so a happy equestria girls avoided that give them real human skin , because if they did hell would break lose. some Β of the bronies are just racist and judgemental they'll give a reason for everything. why they shouldn't be overweight because their always active, cisgender i'm not so sure about that , that seems like a personal thing . something their headcannon made up about the characters but come on have the fans dont even know what character development is, are you really going to believe they can think of something complex as that for the characters. Β
straight hmm...okay Β what im about to say will sound biased but its kinda true. most of the bronies are male right. and the some of them have oc they want their favorite character to be with. or themselves ugh i'm not really for bestiality. and some of them aren't really into the yuri/yoai thing that's find its just when they make a big deal about it is the problem. that being said the brony fanbase has a large yuri pairing than any fanbase i ever seen.Β

For some reason, I think the only valid definition of forced diversity would be token minority characters with very little personality. But other than that, yeah.
The only things I really like about the MLP fandom are the fan art and fan music, especially mlp remixes and original mlp electronic tunes. For the most part, though, the fandom has proved itself to be pretty hostile (and thank god for their safe search wrap-up movement, we don't need clop pics ending up where kids can see them). It's gotten to the point that both bronies and antibronies look like idiots.
I think the same can be said about the Steven Universe fandom. In its beginnings, I only saw good interactions among fans and I thought it was the nicest fandom ever. Now that I heard about the Uncle Grandpa crossover and the more elitist social justice dudes in the fandom, I want nothing to do with it.
This is pretty much the best I can word this.

I don't see why Rarity can't be built like Marilyn Monroe. It fits perfectly!!!!!!!

Personally, I see love and tolerance as a means of us reaching out to people in any way we can. But I can definitely see why we're seen as hypocrites when we don't live up to this.

You can never live up to your pathetic credo. Love is not real, and tolerance is weakness.

A friend of mine created a new world for the rabid, racist, intollerant Bronies: "Coltists", meaning they are pretty much zealots of almost religious fanatism. He even wrote a fanfic called "My Tall Human: Fiendship Is Scientific", presenting everything that gices Coltist a well deserved butt-hurt.

I have to say I completely agree with this. I consider my wife a bronie, but she's one of the few who loves and tolerates to the best of her ability (hell she even tolerates the existence of 'cupcakes' though we both question the sanity of the author). it just seems that everywhere you go any fandom you enter into there are going to be fundamentalists who basically ruin it for others. It's up to the proud few who can follow that one saying properly to make the best of it and give bronies a better name.

I do honestly agree with you, however I usually only see the bashing of things like humanized art here on DA. Thats the big problem with DA, there is 6-12 year olds who think that everything has to be just the way that they think it should be.
