Description
I don't like MMD. Just my opinion, nothing more and nothing less.If you have nothing decent to say, then keep your comments to yourself. No point in being rude to someone if they stated their opinion politely.
I think it'd be better if you actually drew the characters in photoshop or by hand to avoid having your work taken down. A lot of MMD related work has been taken down due to the fact that the submitted deviations are often screenshots.
Sure, I give you congrats if you work really hard, but if you don't, then work harder.

It's a 3D animation program made by Yu Higuchi. I think this person is talking more about the community than anything else. The MMD community is weak.
Things I Really Hate About the MMD Community1. People not respecting Japanese modeller's rules about protecting their passwords, and distributing them behind their backs.
roco-55, Q-Ku-mmd, and nononoP are all sick and tired of it. They make beautiful models and now the western availability is at stake because certain people didn't follow these VERY SIMPLE rules. Q-Ku has already stopped distributing their models to westerners out of fear and frustration. Any Japanese modeller allowing us to use their model(s) is a very special privilege created from faith and trust in us and here we are taking it for granted. Fuck whoever does this, because not only do sane people over here not get to use these works of art, we are treating these people like they're here to serve us.
2. The blatant overuse of TDA models.
TDA models are pretty, but they're EVERYWHERE. I know my latest model was a TDA, but it was only per the person's request. They're so unoriginal, and used in every girly emo song they just don't fit into. It makes me want to

((Ah, I remember when I used to use MMD....
The only thing it's ever good for is referencing. And that's little things like poses and hands.
I don't hate on people who work hard on it, but I hate when people show no effort when using it.))

I work hard, and MMD is not "just taking screenshots" it takes time to pose and edit. It is like a collab, besides since when were you in a postion where you can act like this. I know this is your opinion, and I value that, but it isn't your place to be rude like this. You tell people to be polite when your not acting that way...(I hope this didnt sound rude, it wasnt meant to >.<)

Well, when you name your title "FUKING MMD" it is not very polite. Also, there was really no need to go around and spread hate. Hate is not good.

Late response, but it's actually a bit lazy. The creator of this stamp said that people only take screenshots of MMD. They're not all art, because most of the time the people that use the models and backgrounds or whatever the world wants to call it didn't design it themselves. If you made your own model, worked super-hard on it and all, then good for you! I congratulate you and wish you luck on all you do. But, for those whose models aren't theirs, then those should be taken down, because it is actually stolen art from my point of view.
Also, if you take clothes from other models, and put them on your own [ [link] ], and call it yours, that's just like frankendolling in my opinion. Frankendolling is taking parts of different pixel bases (which are also lazy unless you do a good job) and making your own.
Alright, that's it. Just throwing that out there.
Sorry for my bad English, by the way.

Well first of all these people gave permission for people to have them, and second of all, making models are still really hard. It's not easy. People make parts so people can use them. >.>

toadbutt In reply to Kiwisaursaysrawr [2012-08-10 20:12:07 +0000 UTC]
I bet it's not as hard as making them YOURSELF. I have no respect for people who take parts, with permission or not, and put them on their own doll. It's still lazy as hell.

I may be an MMD user, but I totally agree with the things you're saying here. MMD wasn't made for DeviantArt; unless your pictures are heavily edited (I think that it takes talent to edit an MMD picture enough, without making it look overblown and stupid), it looks a bit... odd. MMD was made for YOUTUBE, because it was made for ANIMATIONS. I've heard complaints elsewhere that MMD is not a 'proper' 3D animation program, because it's much easier to make anything at all (frequently very clunky) on it than it is on other programs - ones that are claimed to be 'real', 'proper', whatever. I see few people who can make MMD really nice and smooth without using motion data from others, and I think that that's because MMD is like the MS Paint of 3D animation. It's a basic, super user-friendly tool, so it shouldn't be considered on par with the others. Which would be like Photoshop Elements.

WeponDeathRaven In reply to MangaHybrid [2012-10-25 20:31:43 +0000 UTC]
Actually it is a "proper 3D animation program" you can make animations and renders, so I do not see your argument. Also I feel everyone is forgetting it is Freeware, not everybody has 400$ or whatever for proffessonal 3D stuff. I feel that MMD is great for a hobby, or beginners and stuff it is a great element to help people get started in a 3D Animation carrer using the basics. It is still considered art and Deviantart welcomes art of all kinds, so why not 3D rendering.

MangaHybrid In reply to WeponDeathRaven [2012-10-26 07:56:16 +0000 UTC]
I never said that it wasn't a 'proper' 3D animation program, I said that I'd heard other people say it. I never said that you couldn't make animations at all, I said that it was much easier to settle with something clunky and unrealistic - I said that it takes talent to make smooth animations on MMD, like it takes talent to create intricate art on MS Paint, which is why I compared the two. Also, I think everyone's come to a census in the comments that good animation produced in MMD and high-quality models (made from scratch, no bases) produced for MMD are real art - everyone's just expressing their dislike of someone copy-pasting a pose onto a badly made base edit, then screenshot-ing and putting it up on deviantart under the guise of hard work.
Also, you have a really good point, MMD is a great stepping-stone or alternative.
