Description
my lame attempt at explaining how i do fur...i'm assuming everyone has a pretty good knowledge of PS, cause i didn't include the little screen grabs that show what tools and brushes i'm talking about..
but they're all quite standard, so hopefully everyone can figure it out
EDIT:
here's a little screen grab showing which brushes i was talking about... and yeah, the tool that in reality is called "smudge" I called "smear". same thing :}

Well, I tried this again, and I'm happy to know I use the correct brushes. It's just getting fur colors to match and putting them in the right area. >_<

O_o I LOVE YOU. THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING IT!!!!!!!!! It's so simple, but if I could get close to step #2, I'd be extremely happy, because I can't put the right color tones in right places. It always seems flat because I can't shade! Can you plz make a shading and highlighting tutorial? I'd die to know how to shade so it doesn't look cartoonish. X_X

I've seen a couple of different approaches to fur.... I think I like yours best. Still experimenting and learning myself. The best I've done so far is hair on this crazy mantis shrimp chic I did!
Thanks for the tut!

T-T mine is turning out to be CRAP! Oh man -_- would you be able to color a pic for me? It wont require much since its just a bust (or head to about waist level) image. If you can I will upload the sketch to show you ^w^

This is EXTREMELY helpful. I just have a few questions. Since my character is not the natural colors (in fur) I may need some help. My characters colors are Black, Neon Green (lime green), and white. For the black, how exactly do I shade the fur? Should I make her overall color lighter or the same as usual? Could you maybe make a pic with the few fur colors to give me an idea of what to do? (just the fur, not a whole entire pic of a werewolf) unless you wouldnt mind making a pic of my character (hopefully Gaara too)
