Description
Basic running sequence practiceAs I noticed that 5 frames weren't quite enough, I tried 8 frames instead. However, I drew only 4 and then mirrored them to save time and effort. Now that I used the additional frames for slowing down the movement towards extreme positions, I could make the change of the movement direction smoother.
Sayaka was kind enough to run on treadmill for me.
Frames drawn on Paint Tool Sai

Thank you. If I recall right, it took around 2.5 hours to do.

it still looks very smooth given the lower frame rate. Kinda like playing a game at 30fps apposed to 60fps. its still very fluid and smooth ;D

This is really realistic and lively animation! Having done quite a bit of animation myself, I can see that you are great.

This looks really good for just 8 frames. I adore your characters, they're just so cute.Β
Hmm, something feels off about the angle we're look at her form. Like the perspective in the point of view? idk >.<;...could be because she's not moving towards the camera or the camera doesn't appear moving. Almost like her upper body is too far back in space from her legs? Idk just trying to be helpful XD.

Thanks
I'm not quite sure what exactly you are trying to say there. To me it appears to be just fine. What comes to the perspective, I imagine that we are just looking at her from such distance that there doesn't appear to be any visual distortion. And for such a loop, it's not possible to make the character come closer to the camera, and making the camera shake would impact the smoothness of the short sequence.
But it's okay to try being helpful anyway, thank you for that. Only things that caught my eyes are that she doesn't seem to touch the ground (or that illusion is too weak because there is only one frame for her foot on the ground) and there is a blinking strand of hair in the sequence, which means that there is an issue with the illusion of continuous movement.

I think it looks odd to me partly because I expect the character to move forward (to appear to run closer to the audience). Because it's such a good animation it feels like it could come to life XD. It's true that it's limited to a loop but if you ever wanted to expand on it... ;D Hmm, I still feel like the audience is looking up at her rather then straight on, but that could totally just be me. XD
If you want to anchor her in space try putting in a horizon line. I think it would help give the illusion she is on the ground. Although I think you're right about the foot frames. I didn't even notice the hair XD
Thanks for the reply~ Keep up the good work!

It's really nice that you include every frame drawing under the animation!
