I figured out the problem with the earlier Gynoid Skunk... a blank, emotionless, robotic stare. Hmm... that might be a feature.Anyway, here's a much more mischievous skunk, with almost a Guy Fawkes expression.
Almost a dare... "Look out, I'm loaded and ready to fire!"
Rendered in Daz Studio 4.5 Pro, using Little Dragon's Furrette figure, latex Hardcore Utility Shaders, and custom textures.

wait, the furrette figures are fre?? I gotta go check this out! Trying to do it with just humanoid models, has sadly not been working out... thank you for the info!

Glad I could help. You can find Furrette / Furraldo and some additional textures, along with some clothing, on Renderosity in the free stuff section, just search for "Furrette". Be sure to use two r's. Also be sure to get the 2.3 version, as the 1.X version is pretty cartoony.
Furrette is an older figure, but still fun to tinker with.

This one wasn't too bad to rig up, I'm learning this as I go myself.
Daz Studio is free, as are the Furrette/Furraldo figures. The hardcore utility shaders I'm using aren't (for the latex skin), and I created the textures in GIMP.
