Description
successfully navigating an asteroid belt approximately 3720 to 1.""Thank you, Mr Data, but don't ever tell me the odds.

The Enterprise is one of the conversions that Mattymanx did, the original is from David Metlesits. The asteroids are freebies that I found on Sharecg, and the star field background was found on the Internet. Lights are mine.
DAZ Studio content and render, post work in Paint Shop Pro 8.

Hehe nice nerd joke. Good render too Can see where the background texture began to warp though, which once seen can't be unseen. Was this done using an image dome? If so it is generally a good idea to avoid pointing the camera to the polls.

No, actually, it was a flat picture that I used as a background.

Strange. Wonder why it warps at the bottom. Maybe it was cropped from a sky dome texture, or did you make the image yourself?

I have no clue why it does that. As for where I got it, I picked it up off the internet. It didn't say where it was clipped from, so I don't know. I have the file saved, but I don't know if any of my other space photos will do that, especially since I didn't notice it before.

Meh, it isn't a big deal, but yeah I'd say the image was cropped from an image that was designed to be fitted to a sphere. Getting rid of the stretching at the poles is notoriously hard to do when making sky/environment/space domes. Still like the render

Sorry I hadn't gotten to this soon but I just realized I had over 4000 images I needed to review and hadn't. It's gonna be a long weekend of review!

Yes, it is, but don't worry about it. I know you're crazily busy with work.

Great image and if that is Goldenrod telling a certain roguish Captain about the odd of navigating an asteroid field then the Federation is going to have a HUGE repair bill after every mission to keep their flagship looking pretty! Outstanding idea and render.

I'm the Star Trek fan, and he's the Star Wars fan, but we each like the other universe, too. I forget how this idea came about, but it was at least a nod to Wars. We had been talking about how you know that Data likes to give times down to the seconds, well we thought we could picture him giving Captain Picard this exclaimed reply to ordering the Enterprise into an asteroid field in order to escape from the Romulans, the Ferengi, or whoever, and the Captain giving his reply back.
I agree though, he'd have a HUGE bill to answer for, and Starfleet Command would not be happy.

I could see Data and C3PO starting a conversation that caused both Picard and Han To space the pair through an airlock!

Especially Han. Data and 3PO would start a conversation about who could out-logic a Vulcan, and Han would just say to heck with it, and space the both of them out an airlock!! LOL!!
