Jackfrost-300-truefr Β put the idea in my head of "Uncle Ralph", so I doodled this between projects at work.I imagine Ralph would be the kind of uncle who brings the kids all kinds of sugar because he knows Felix doesn't want them having any. Because it makes them crazy.
Wait hold on holy shit there's a deleted scene where Felix, Calhoun, and the sugar children are all eating dinner, which looks like a nicely balanced meal, and Candlehead complains that "...in Sugar Rush we eat candy". I'm assuming Felix and Calhoun stood strong in changing their diets - dear lord, was a diet of PURE SUGAR the only reason they were such terrors?! I'm sure getting them off of it couldn't have hurt. I'm not about to take credit for "taming those things" away from the Hero's Cuties or anything, but...HEY WOW I THINK WE'RE ON TO SOMETHING.
(I'm not super happy with Ralph here. I think I need to focus on him for a while and really iron out his design because it changes....vastly...every time I draw him.)

I just went looking and it looks like it's not available to be watched anywhere online, but most blu-ray editions should have it (there were a few Special Editions, lol!)
It's like my favorite thing, and I'm WEEPING that it wasn't in the final movie but the director said it would have slowed things down and made the movie way too long.

"Tolerant" is a very good word for Ralph. He takes a lot of suffering for a loooong time. Hell, it took him 30 entire years to finally have enough of the fact that everyone in his life treated him like garbage (literally). He's a very, very good boy. ...for a Bad Guy.

It's on the BluRay for Ralph Breaks the Internet, but since there are many different versions, I only know for sure that it's on the collector's edition from Target (but hopefully is also in any of the BluRay releases?! There were so many! But I got that one because it came with a story and art book!) x3

Heh. I just discovered that deleted scene this past week myself. (I'm bad about making time to watch bonus features, but I found a Blu-Ray player at a rummage sale and wanted to make sure it worked on newer discs.)
It brings up a whole bunch of questions about their world, though. Like, is all of the seemingly-made-of-candy stuff in that game (which is, like, the entire world) edible to them? Or is there "real" candy that's separate from the candy-themed scenery? And if video game characters regularly sit down to actual meals, does that mean they need to eat, or is it more of a ritual? And either way, where do Nicelanders get food besides the pies that are actually in the game?
Β ...It's a lot more fun to ask these kinds of questions than try to answer them.

Well personally I suppose there is a difference. The environment and characters from Sugar Rush arenβt comestibles. For example, among the supporters during the races, there is lollipops, but they arenβt the same that Taffyta is eating.
And yes the nicelanders are eating other stuffs than pie because during their games birthday they are eating a big cake (looking like their building), and each floor have a different flavor according to each nicelanders preferences . Which mean that they have various tastes and that, without Ralph intervention, they would eat cake π
Me too I have a lot of questions like this... I suppose we are so much Stans of those characters that we are questioning more than the movieβs directors/scenarists.... π€£

I'll add to this discussion the concept of "currency"/"economy" - Felix says he'll go to the store to buy more milk (I think?), and Tapper also has running bar tabs for Ralph and crew. WHAT DO THEY PAY EACH OTHER IN AND WHERE ARE THESE GROCERIES/SUPPLIES COMING FROM?!

I know I say this a lot, but the fact that you enjoy this art, which I do mostly out of pure love and enjoyment, makes me so happy!! The fact that what I do to make myself happy makes other people happy means so much to me!! I can't believe it!
I'm not sure if/when I will ever open commissions again, but this means a lot to me, too!!! For now, I think I may only open sketch commissions in emergency situations, but I am studying art every day so that someday I may be able to take full commissions again. I hope to work on some art for you someday!!!

He started off as a Leonberger, but nowadays I try to avoid giving them exact breeds, so I can try to make them look more like the character and focus less on breed traits (although it's great when those two things line up right!). I guess we could say he's a Leonberger mix. xD

Oh they're...they're bigger than they even look in photos! One came in to my vet's office once while I was there with one of my rats, and out of the corner of my eye I thought the man came in with a lion.
