Description
John came up with this tshirt idea with a T Rex looking at the viewer and saying "My vision is based on movement. Where'd you go?" Har har..Then I thought of a sad little T Rex looking at a comic book and not being able to read it, since (heh heh) his vision is based on movement.
Guess who won out..
(btw, this is based off of the T Rex in Jurassic Park, I'm not sure if that's actually true)

First off great narrative illustration really neat concept and great overall execution, the use of the text above him is definitely an improvement over simply adding a speech bubble, makes it much more narrative.
i love the colors youve used here very minimal, mostly adhering to a rust orange palette, but with a touch of indigo blue for the comic book, very nice and complimentary i might add. most would go straight for a bright green type palette for a dinosaur but i like the use of the browns and earthier colors.
my only problem with the color and the intensity level of the shading in the background, i dont think it should brightened hugely but i almost feel like its too dark. perhaps lightening it a little would help, but then there would be the risk of the hues in the bg and the hue of the rex itself looking too closely related. so maybe lightening it up and tweaking the hue of the background a little could keep the background from disappearing into the black but also standing out enough to be more interesting to the piece(but not overpowering the rex of course). cause there is some great detail in that bg i feel we maybe missing out on.
another thing that makes me feel its too dark is your website link at the bottom. it appears to be the same color/darkness and i can barely even read it even if i focus on just it.
so really the bg color/darkness is the only things i see as problematic. otherwise, awesome and funny piece. great work.

Is the square really that dark? I can see my link very clearly. I was asking because I've been having some discrepancies with how my colors look to different people based on screen intensities. The words on this one are supposed to be straight white if that helps anything.
All in all, this was probably the best critique I've had. Very fair and it's nice to know I didn't screw up on some basic level that I didn't notice until the critique came along!

oh okay it may be my screen then really. on my end it is quite dark but if its a clear level on your end it may be my screen or my eyes one. and yeah i hate it when that happens which for me is kinda often. but maybe im just seein things though, its not a huge detail anyway to be honest, just the only thing i could pick up on so i guess itd be considered mostly as a nit-picky thing. still great work and concept.

eh, no problem. Most of my earlier comics are washed out now that I turned my monitor brightness down to be more balanced.

The idea of his vision being based on movement was derived from the DNA of frogs being inserted into the eggs to help fill in the gene sequence gaps. Unfortunate side effect was that somewhere along the way the Tyrannosaur picked up the vision thing.
That's all science fiction theoretical stuff anyways. Nutcase is right, the rex had fantastic vision.
BUT YEAH. I love this.

lol the next step would be the little notebook doodles that you make on every page and when you flip through the pages it looks like it moves.
comic style of course

In reality, T-Rex had outstanding vision. The way the eye sockets were placed gave it bincular vision, like us humans.

I also hear that the T Rex sense of smell would've ruined Alan Grant's chances of living.
