I don't have permission to submit to that group. Please use the "Submit to a Group..." text link found at the bottom of the "Found in these Groups:" section on each deviation if you would like these posted in your group, thank you

Joeytotl In reply to ??? [2010-03-14 18:26:07 +0000 UTC]

I'm a founder and I wanna switch with my co-founder, but when I click "kick out" it says "This will remove Joeytotl from the group. are u sure?" does the box where I have to write the other persons name come after i click ok, or will i actually be kicked out? I'm a little confused, so please help ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

parallellogic In reply to Joeytotl [2010-03-14 22:07:46 +0000 UTC]

The Founder will need to initiate the switch - they have the ability to promote an existing admin (the co-founder) to the founder position. They can choose their replacement when they leave the Founder position using the "Leave this Group" option from the Member drop down (near the group's avatar) on the group's profile page and then typing in the co-founder's name inthe box when asked for it.

Joeytotl In reply to parallellogic [2010-03-15 19:21:51 +0000 UTC]

Ok, me again
I don't get a box with the name i'm supposed to write, I just get:
""Leave the Group?
Nothing lasts forever...

If it's time to leave #SS501Rebirth for good, press the Leave button below. This will end your membership with the group.""

Does that come after this? just a yes or no will do

PS: I'm new to this group thing and I'm really sorry for bothering you like this!

~Does that come after this? just a yes or no will do
Yes, the prompt to add a new user as the founder will come after the founder attempts to leave a group - it is impossible to leave a group founder-less except in the case where the founder deactivates their account, and these cases are handled individually by the +help desk

~I'm new to this group thing and I'm really sorry for bothering you like this!
No worries, part of working at #devBUG is knowing how to efficiently address just these kinds of concerns with groups - everyone's new to the groups system at some point

Under the group's avatar on the group's profile page there is a "Member" drop down - at the bottom of the drop down is a "Close the Group" button.

First of all, I want to thank you so much for making this.

I have a couple questions though, on deleting old blogs that are no longer necessary.
Is this possible or not?
If so, could you help me out?
I've been looking everywhere and I just can't seem to find it.

Thank you so much for your time in advance!

My I just ask what a contributor is for example, as a status in different groups?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

parallellogic In reply to skeptikern [2010-02-24 11:05:46 +0000 UTC]

A Contributor is part of the Admin class. A Contributor can have differnet privilege sets associated with the class that are independent of the Founder & Co-founder settings. A Contributor counts toward the 99-user admin limit for the group. A Contributor can be given the ability to view the Back Room where Members cannot.

Does that answer your question?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

skeptikern In reply to parallellogic [2010-02-24 11:38:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I think it pretty much does. I was just confused because I get the Founder and Co-founder part but the Contributor was kind of fuzzy for me.

Yes, only groups where you are an admin will appear in the profile page drop down. You can choose one of these groups to appear in your message bar at the top of every dA page. There is however a "Groups" widget which will list all the groups where you are a member that you can add to your profile page. If you would like any details on what I've just said, please feel free to ask

There is no gallery migration widget...has it not been created yet? or something else...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

parallellogic In reply to ilovekakashi28 [2010-02-03 23:02:58 +0000 UTC]

The Gallery Migration Widget is only avaialble to groups that were converted over to the new system from pre-existing clubs. If you converted the group, not created from scratch, then you will be able to access the Gallery Migration Widget as described above.

My group was converted from a club. I still haven't been able to find the migration widget though. O_o looked in the misc section...not there. I meant to ask this a while ago as I wanted to convert those deviaitons a while back but yeah I forgot but its been brought back up. ^^

Which group is this? Can you provide a screen cap of the "Misc" section? If this is a bug, it should be reported in #devBUG .

ilovekakashi28 In reply to parallellogic [2010-02-04 17:21:05 +0000 UTC]

The group I'm a founder of #Mental-IllnessClub I took a screen cap...it wont show as an official link but copying and pasting should work: C:\Users\Owner\Pictures\Capture.MHT
I've only ever had 10 items in the misc section with super group status.

Uhhh, that's a link to the file on your computer. Please upload it here: [link] . Please also ensure the screen cap shows all of the Edit Page window, thank you.

parallellogic In reply to ilovekakashi28 [2010-02-04 19:22:18 +0000 UTC]

... that's because the file is stored on your computer, your browser is accessing the file stored on your computer - I can't access the files on your computer.

~first time I ever took a screen shot
Well, just be sure to paste into an imaging processing program such as MS Paint, save the file to your computer, then upload for public access using an online image provider such as Image Shack.

yup I know thats how it usually works with computer files, but I'd never used the snipping tool before and it gave me the option to convert it,so I dunno. lol

So I tried it with the link you had given previously..hopefully I did it right: [link]

Not sure. I thought the edit page thing all looked the same wherever you clicked it. I'm guessing thats not the case then? I honestly havent explored much at the group since its a busy group it takes a lot of time just to keep things running...I'll go check now though, thanks

Yeah, it's really only a temporary go-between, I don't think they rated it as that critical in the groups design and thus didn't smooth out the UI.

Certainly
