Description
Concept of sci fi pulse rifle.Quite busy these days but I've been able to make this one concept along.
It is energy equipment. No projectiles at all. Battery is socketed in rear sections behind grip. Body hides bunch of three barrels/emitters inside. Core of structure is chamber in the middle . Scope is linked to body and is displaying (beside other) actual status of battery and other information regarding internal parts. These information are available only in scope and not also on the body itself which has been found as limitation while operating. On the other hand new platform of battery provides enough energy for 94 rounds. Design office is still working on elimination flash effects while firing. Also tests uncover defects occuring while constant firing. In case of constant suppress fire of 3 and more battery packs in row, generated heat melts down front mask. Planned bigger cooler inside body will fix this problem soon.
I made this concept in 3ds max and render engine I used V-ray. Model is highpoly. Due lack of time I didnt make full textures but used shiny materials.
I did 2 big pictures:
1. Shoki main - peterku.deviantart.com/art/Sho…
2. Shoki secondary - peterku.deviantart.com/art/Sho…
So what? Do you like it or not? Tnx for comments if any and bye.
P.S.
I did another model with similar style: SUIJIN (SUIJIN - Concept of sci fi pulse rifle. )
Bye

There is always way how we an do it better. I accept those points. Bog hole at the rear I did to place inside some structure and not to be boring there. VBye.

THIS. IS. AMAZING *-*
polycount ? rendertime ? graphic card ? xD
srsly this is stunning, if I would render this on my PC in Blender it would probably take a complete day...

tnx. dont remember what is polycount but render time is mainly affected by material. and this materials are quick rendered so it took up to 20 minutes to render one picture. bye.

Ah, nice, a scope that follows the shape language of the rifle. You've done very well with the design this time.

Responding to the "critique requested". The only thing I can see, and I had to look hard to find something to fix since it's so close to perfect, would be the lens on the scope has a yellow tint on both ends. The reflective tint should be just on the far end so the shooter can see through the scope with ease. But again, I had to strain myself to notice that. But as always, It's so incredibly well done. I wish I could get a finish that realistic on mine. I use Blender though, is that able to be accomplished on what I use?

Great work! It would be great to see this model here in full 3d - you could upload it to Sketchfab, and then embed it in full 3D in your journal here on DA: sketchfab-3d.deviantart.com/jo… .

Super. Love to see you move away from the projectile weapon basis and use your own imagination and ideas more.

Awesome 3d work man, I've been studying it for a year now and wish to someday be as good as you. I have a pretty good understanding of modeling, but vray and texturing are my weaknesses, could you elaborate on how you unwrap, texture and set up your materials in VRay? I always end up with horrible seams. Are there any places where you have learnt techniques that you can refer us to?
If you answer, thank you very much

hi. all 3d programs are still more and more similar. its jsut your option what will use. if you want to do precise texturing then use program MUDBOX and seams in textures wont be any problem for you . bye. PK

If I remember correctly (It's been awhile since I looked at a firearm) "Red is Dead" in regards to the safety. I noticed that you made the safety text in red, which is opposite of what is standard with firearms (I think).

now that differences between 3d programs became smaller and smaller. its just your option which program you will use....
