"Transhuman" is a term synonymous with 'human enhancement.' Science and technology can enhance the human condition, both mentally and physically. Transhumanism uses emerging and esoteric technologies to eliminate undesirable elements of the human condition - aging, disabilities, diseases, and involuntary deaths. It is the transition point between ordinary humanity and something so advanced in capability as to merit labels like 'posthuman'.

Exhumans take the capabilities of self-modification to the absolute limit in order to transcend mortality and humanity itself. Exhumans see chaos and squabbling as an example of humanity's inferiority. Disaster and manipulation are a chance for evolution.

Exhuman cliques take on different ideologies, though as a whole they self-evolve into a higher state of being. To some, this means transforming themselves into hyperintelligent apex predators capable of surviving in any environment. Others intend to transform themselves on the mental level, with extensive pharmaceutical and genetic treatments.

In general, though, exhumans are mistrusted - for good reason! Exhumans engage in modifications that are extreme and untested, and their disdain for normal baseline humans is only matched by their hatred for anything they consider a "wrong turn" in evolution. Individuals like Natasha Zhukov, the mysterious Phantom, AI Hybrids like Ariadne and her ilk; all of them are enemies at best and fodder for drone-hood at worst.

Unverified reports describe Queens with collections of heroines, villains, enhanced and gifted creatures alike. They are taught ultimate obedience, and denied integration into the hive's eusocial groupmind. Instead, they are instructed in the arts of pleasure and worship, massaging and groping and delighting their owners. They are given a single task; to worship their mistresses as a goddess in the hive, as their savior and leader.

The real star is VoughtVindicator 's Ariadne.

Ariadne is a pretty dangerous actor. Ariadne the AI Hybrid is more than the sum of her parts. 20th-century terms like 'cyborg' or 'robot' simply don't do her justice. When you're truly more than human, there aren't words in our simple flesh-tongues to describe her puissance and prowess.
