Hello! It's a 4-way stretch moleskin, brushed finish. I use chocolate, nude, dark nude, beige, and ivory for most of my dolls, though gold may work. I don't have any experience with that color as a normal human skin tone though.

skining? Is that where you carefully glue another layer of fleece to the shape to hide the neccerssary seams that make it look ugly otherwise?

Nope, it's when you pull a layer of spandex over to hide the unnecessary seams and add softness
