Pinkie logic and Fluttershy being Fluttershy.
The comic was inspired by a clip from Simpsons I saw a while ago (it was about their heads and hair, though).
Edit 02/05/2013: Also, no one could tell me for sure if ponies have fur or hair on their body (different sources = different answers), so I added a little joke about that
Everything drawn by me in Art Rage Studio Pro 3 with a tablet. I used Ink Pen and Felt Pen tools. Lettering was done in Inkscape.

Ive got it as my headcannon that one of the earthponies special inherent abilities as opposed to flight or magic is enhanced senses. It would explain pinkie pies near precognitive abilities.

in that case applejack is a blank canvas, so that can't be it. actually i think it increased strength in hooves, it explains why applejack is able to buck trees, and why pinkie is able to... well pinkie is kind of unique since she can pretty much do whatever she wants

Yeah, I aimed at that style - it's quite simple (great for such a talentless guy as me), yet it gives realy good effects.

I'm certain it has been mentioned a few times in the past but I don't remember where. One of them was a commentary about everything that seems odd about MLP character designs.
Considering how different MLP ponies differ from their real-world counterparts in so many other ways, I think most people simply took things as-is so didn't comment on this much.
