if you've got a mental illness or are generally just a very anxious person and need to complete a task that you really dont like but have to do
please know that you are not alone out there and that it is completely okay to feel like for example not wanting to do that essay that's been waiting for you to finally get started on
many people feel that way, even i do
if you've got tasks to do that you dont like/are too scared to complete
try to make a plan
make yourself a timeline when you're going to get started on your work
get yourself a sheet of paper and note down how much you would like to work on your task each day
dont set a deadline just yet, that will only make you even more anxious and you will probably end up procrastinating again
make sure to get a little bit of work done each day
just a small bit
sit down, sort yourself and try to concentrate, even if it's just for five minutes
make sure to take enough breaks doing whatever you love to do like watching your favourite series, treating yourself with something sweet, sitting down on a bench outside and listening to the nature
if you feel like you have gained enough energy, continue doing your assigned task
five to ten minutes of pure concentration are usually enough to get at least a good part of your work done
if you feel confident enough, you can also add another five minutes of work each time you feel like you are mentally stable enough to work yourself a little closer towards your goal
you can get a lot of work done this way, trust me
im sure whatever work you've got to do, you CAN do it
you are a smart human being and i know you can get anything done if you follow my advise
oh and also please dont forget to drink enough water
like that you'll be able to concentrate even better

Now THIS is sound advisement!
I'm often swamped within or spiraling around important tasks/situations/assignment/projects! These swamps and spirals somewhat often cause me to have lennex-gastaut specific episodes (for which I've been hospitalized on numerous occasions)
Just for the record, I have a rare-ish seizure disorder called lennex-gastaut; this disorder usually kills a diagnosed child by the time they reach the range of 5 years (minimum) to 8.5 years (maximum) of age.
One could say I am both "half-blessed" (in that I have survived this seizure disorder for more than 29 years, with the 30th-year time stamp being official by the upcoming date of August 28th 2017), as well as "half-cursed" (in that I have been rejected, ostracized, demonized, and/or near-excommunicated by others in my long and weary lifetime, whether generally or intimately)).
This message, for my circumstances, appears to make for many great ways for me to do my college work alone - Heck, this may help me sans the sweat, the anxiety, and the associated cognitive dissonance caused by a "simple" (But topically concentrated and full-focused) 1000 word maxed paper, or this semester's "somewhat involved" full, final, 45%-of-my-grade, 12(+) paged research paper (not to mention the required "visual aid" accompaniment tacked along with that aforementioned semester's paper). AAAAAAnd that's just the first concern, alongside my lennex-gastaut...
To put it simply, reading this very message makes, can make, and has made (as of now), me feel better about my outlook on my life and my reaction to my feelings.
