Description It is difficult to fathom, the monstrosity of the nova above us. The elders say it went nuclear billions of years ago, but recent scientific studies say it only happened a few thousand years ago. It's really beautiful though. We can see it clearly at night and faintly during the day, but it never really goes away completely. It's huge. The elders said once that it is the largest thing in the universe, and I believe it. It spans our entire skyline, you would never see anything different if you were on our planet, save for the gas giant Ageon at night.

But the nebula holds a secret. That secret is so incredible, the elders were sworn to secrecy by the king himself. We don't know what that secret is, but we think it has something to do with the millenium. After all, the central star HAS been shining brightly lately...

ALRIGHT!!!!!

My practice for my submission to the I.D. pack. I have been slaving over this thing for the last two weeks, whenever I found time this is what I was working on. It really feels good to hit the submit button again, it is a button I have not been hitting for the last few weeks

PLEASE VIEW FULL. It will make me very happy, and you will see all the details that I slaved over for two weeks for you so you could VIEW THE PICTURE IN FULL.

Also, if you could find it in your heart, leave at LEAST a one sentence comment. I dont want the "WOW +fav!" factor on this one, I want to hear what you think. I really really really worked hard on it. Anyways, what are we waiting for??

Stats:

Layers: 170
Original Size: 1200x1600, big enough for prints. I will be making prints at Kinkos because my family wants a print of this, but I am not gonna pay 24 bucks for a printing account. If you want a print note me.

Adobe Photoshop CS2

I know I am forgetting something, I will change the description when I find out what that is. Read my latest journal for more information.

Like nameless designer i think you have improoved. Good job on the painting! Mind if i give you some critique?

I think the painting has a higher quality than the asteroids. they are an interesting part of the picture but still need some work... It feels like they take away the feeling of depth rather than add to it and they generally don't look as good as the rest. I know asteroids are difficult, i know they can really be a pain, but i think if you can improve the asteroids and lighten them better it would improve the whole picture a great deal.

Don't get me wrong. I like the picture and am not trying to demotivate you! But i guess depth is specifically important for the I.D. Pack.

Keep it up man!

Thanks very much

Yea, I know about the asteroids. I am using the neb from this in my ID submission, and I am creating a whole new piece for it, but I am not using asteroids... they can be a royal pain in the ass.

Anyways, thanks for the critique, will definitely use it when I do my next piece with asteroids... *dreads the thought of asteroids*

Also, the piece I am working on for the I.D. pack, I have greatly improved the nebulae, added dark matter, and used some new matte painting techniques to create a good "cloud nebula" in the foreground. How is yours going? Hope its good!

(by the way... we need to start talking about how to put the pack together... I'll note you with the details

Thanks for the comments dude, hope you are well!

I'm good myself thx. only a week of work to go until holidays for me, so i'm in a good mood X-)
