The last tutorial I made was years ago. I'm no good at teaching but hopefully this answers most questions about my process.

So helpful! Some of this stuff I've been figuring out by experimentation, but a lot of it I hadn't thought of. Thank you!

Thank you so much. I'm slowly transitioning into doing digital pieces and need all the help I can get.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

well i mean your lineart on first step looks perfect before you use your computer program, how?! you clean your lineart in photoshop or just have great scanner?

I just have very clean lineart, it doesn't matter which scanner I use. I scan my images at 300dpi for high-res.

this is really helpful. I always was interested in the different ways artists edited and colored their pieces

Wow the multiply and stroke to get thicker lines is a brilliant idea!!! How come I never thought of that before, thanks! (Also I always thought you actually inked in all the lines digitally )

quartervirus-archive In reply to Sleyf [2013-03-02 03:21:15 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes it doesn't work so well because stroke isn't aliased like the rest of the lines, but usually a little tweaking and cleaning solves that problem.

I do ink some of my lines digitally! But it's usually much more obvious when I do. The SWTOR character sheet where I draw busts for all five of my characters is 100% digital.

It never even crossed my mind at all! I should try it! But then again my pencil lines aren't nearly as smooth as yours, but thanks for the tip!

I never really noticed the different (which is a good thing!)

Thanks so much for sharing. I'm always very curious about other peoples approaches when it comes to drawing.
(The details on Louis's Kimono are so elaborate. I wish I had your patience (and experience XD)).
