Welcome to Ponyville Jade, this kind of thing (running for your life) happens more often then you think.

My head-cannon states that Ponyville is the center of problems of Equestria (joestevensinc.deviantart.com/a⦠and possibly the rest of the wrold.
you know: death forest to the left, death something to the right, the founding city of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, nearest place to the tartarus gates, and oh so many other things that can kill you.Β not as dangerous as The Everfree, but still dangerous as hell, witch might surprise anyone whoΒ thinkΒ that a village MUST be 10 times safer than the forest of death.
Nice drawing BTW very well done. you were able to picture the scene perfectly in emotion and other things.

As for Ponyville attracting danger. I think it has more to do with plot convenience than anything, since our main characters are there.

I kind of have a founding for this kind of thing: city/village that attracts all kinds of dangers, forcing the inhabitants to become crazy awesome to survive. at last 45% of my ideas for stories have this kind of thing.

"WHOA!"Jade screamed as Spike grabbed her hand and ran."RUN!"Spike screeched in panic,"She's coming!"Knowing that the dragon won't give her any answer to why they were running,Jade looked back and saw a dark green mane colored mare chasing them,it was Rarity.
"April fools prank?"Jade asked facing forward.Spike nodded.
Just a little story of what I thought they were running from.Since its still close to April fools I'd figure maybe Spike pulled a prank on somepony,poor Jade having to be pulled into everything

At 8:08 somepony screams 'run for it!' in a typical cheesy 80's way. XD
Now, this sketch here, is actually the exact opposite of cheesy and 80's and all that stuff,
but still the first thing that came to mind when I saw this sketch was Spike screaming 'run for it!'

They kinda don't have a choice, since they're running for dear life and all.

"Lets meet the dragon of the Everfree Forest she said. It'll be fun she said. What!? He's taking a ten day nap in his cave!? Well, we'll just throw a stone up his nose to wake him up, he won't mind so don't be such baby dragon Spike SHE said!" Spike shouted as he berated the mastermind behind this insane plan. He ran with said mastermind in hand, further and faster than he ever did in the entirety of his life.
"Hey!! SHE is standing...er running right next to you. Which reminds me, less taking, more running!" Jade quipped back to her partner in crime easily keeping up with Spike.
"We wouldn't have to be running for our lives if you wasn't so mischievous!"
"Is it my fault that there's nothing to do in Ponyville today?! All our friends are busy working. I mean if I had to wait any longer for the CMC to get out of school while I was stuck doing nothing I would die from boredom!"
"And dying from a dragon is a better option?!"
"Rrrrrrrrraaaaggggghhhhhh!" and thunderous roar echoed through the forest demanding silence as the Green dragon of the Everfree Forest, Razorgreen, loudly reminded the two troublemakers why they were running.
"You desecrated my cave, Not once but twice now hatchling, and with your mate no less!"
Spike and Jade: "What?! we're not mat-"
"SILENCE! your purple pony protector is not here to save you this time hatchling which give me the great pleasure of choosing to either devour you both, or to skin you two into a nightcap for when I sleep again." The dragon roared as he quickly chased after his victims through the forest as it got denser and denser with each giant step he took spewing fire through his mouth occasionally as he rushed to capture them before they got away and headed back to Ponyville.
I couldn't help myself but to write a small story to with your pic. That being said er written, great work. You can really see how terrified they are, which is understandable since they're being chased. Again, great work

Thanks for the compliment and your little story was amusing to read. Unfortunately it wouldn't work in my headcanon. Jade isn't stupid and she knows how to behave around grown dragons better than Spike. I didn't want to spoil this, but Jade isn't really too keen on hanging with the CMC. They are running from something that wants to eat them, but saying what it is would spoil way too much.
