Yes, I know it seems a little basic, but I remember way back when I first started the GIMP, it took me a lot of experimenting and searching to do just the simplest of things. Also, I don't think I've ever seen one tutorial with these different text effects in it, so I decided to write one.Zoom in to see the text better.
Feel free to ask if you need any help or if you have a request for a tutorial.

No matter what I do, the border color ends up dark grey. No matter what. whats wrong with it

Everytime I try to do an effect it deletes the entire pic except the text area.
