PART2 The Heir (Part2)

It's a hot evening in the Outland. Sauda and her newborn son are lying in a cave hiding from the heat of the sun.
A familiar smell is flowing in the air, she opens her eyes to see an unexpected visitor.

"Zira, What brings you here? Aren't you supposed to be with your cub right now?"

Sauda was surprised by her sister's visit as she knew Zira also just given birth to her cub weeks ago.
Lioness doesn't suppose to leave her newborn cubs alone in their first few weeks.

"Greeting, sister. How are you?" Zira asking with a casual voice.

"We... We are doing good. And how are you?
I heard you have a cub. Is everything okay in the Prideland?"

"She is fine" Zira answered, her voice goes a little lower like she doesn't want to talk about it.

"She? So you have a girl. I'm sorry, Zira. I know you are desperate for a boy..."

Sauda holds her cub tightly as she senses something unusual in Zira's eyes while she's talking to her.

"And I heard you have a boy?" Zira raises her eyebrows.

"Oh... yes. This is my son, his father named him Jamal." Sauda moves her paw a little so that Zira can see her son from distance.

"I see. A name his pathetic father gave to him... congratulations, my sister.
That looks like a fine healthy cub."

As Zira walking closer to her, Sauda quickly standing over her cub.
Something is not right.

"Zira, why exactly are you here?"

Sauda raises her voice, Zira backs up a little but her eyes still lays on her cub.

"Sauda, my sister. Do you really wish this to be your son's future?
This kind of life? Being an outsider moving from place to place,
with no pride and land of your own?!"

"What are you talking about?"

"Scar, the king of Prideland. He had offered a great deal, sister. It could change your son's life... "

"He wants to choose an heir, any lioness who has a newborn son
can present her son for him to be chosen as an heir to the Prideland... Tomorrow-"

"No! what were you thinking?! I won't take my son to that lion, I want nothing to do with him."

"You won't sister, I will. I'm going to presents your son to him"

"And what about his son? YOUR son, Nuka! Why won't he choose Nuka to be his heir?"

"Nuka is too weak to be a king, he said..." Zira growls, there's disappointment in her voice.

"Most of his cubs are born weak, he believes his bloodline is cursed.
But he still wants a perfect cub, whether it's his own or not...."

Zira walking forward, grinning with cold dead eyes.

"I need your son, Sauda. I promise you he'll have a good life there."

"No, Zira. He's not going anywhere."

"I will ask you for one last time.. will you give me YOUR CUB!"

"Over my dead body!"

It's not my first language and I suck at using it for conversation description, but I still need to write it for a story telling anyway.

Now I have a little project to draw an origin of Kovu (which I think will have about 3 or 4 parts..(or maybe more lol)
And this is the first one of them. I hope you like it.
