Thanks very much. I really love to work with bold colors; this whole project was a real treat in that sense.

This is an interesting demonstration of what can be accomplished by combining traditional and digital techniques. Each has its strengths and weaknesses, and I like the way you've optimized both "sides."

LOL - What's sad is that I'm using digital techniques only because I knew I wouldn't be able to take a professional-looking photograph. It really was almost as much work as all the traditional-medium bits that comprise it!

I find that my scanner muddies pigment colors, so I've gotten to the point where I always add the color digitally if I need to print pieces before sculpting.

Wow! Every creature (For lack of words) that you drew is amazingly beautiful
The style ancient style you used fits perfectly with both the beasts and background
Wish I had the cash to buy a print, I'd so love to have this as a poster on my wall *Sniff*

Thanks very much.
Awww, I understand - a lot of folks are strapped for cash right now. Just save up, and if there comes a day when you're still interested in a print, I'll be here.

"I wish to register a complaint about your avians..."
"Really?, What's wrong with them?"
"Oh I'll tell you what's wrong with them....They're Dead, That's what's wrong with them"

HA! These avians are most certainly not dead... Though their morning chorus could conceivably *wake* the dead.

Two words: HAND CRAMPS.
That aside, it's awesome to see them assembled like that! The pearls and studs are definitely a nice touch.

Yeah, hand cramps for sure. That's why I take projects like this in several small steps.

Thanks very much!
The five creatures were made with the intent of cutting them out and assembling them in a space together. I had to make them separate, though, because of the size of the bristol board I drew them on.

Your patience is almost mind-boggling. Or perhaps godlike. o.o I envy you for not getting excited/tired as it nears completion and then rush something...
But this is so beautiful all put together. I'm sure your parents were very happy.

Thanks very much! Even my *dad* liked it, and he can be hard to impress.
LOL - My patience is a figment of the public's imagination. I get tired and impatient pretty easily, so I take everything in small steps. I worked in the digital comp for a couple of hours each day, but I really couldn't handle much more than that. I find it more difficult to deal with digital media than I do real media.

This is very cool, Rachael.
It's even cooler that your parents are patrons of the arts.

Mom and Dad support all of us kids - the musicians, the seamstress, and us visual-arts geeks. We appreciate them very much.

You bet! It took some serious elbow grease to get all those pieces colored, but Mom loved it so it was worth all the trouble.
