Do you have a credible source for this? I am writing a research paper n male-to-male sexual relationships in Ancient Greek Armies and I could use a little....push...

There's not a lot of info about this particular aspect of Spartan life. I am having a difficult time finding my original source for this one. But there is a TON of info available on the Sacred Band of Thebes. I'd say wiki that and check out the sources they link to for more in depth info.

yay the movie 300 dialog and stuff didn't make sense
the Spartans were so into the male love!
I have to admit the movie 300 was really gay....
Xerxes I have to say was very feminist

you have to also admit that the movie watchmen also had some very bisexuality into it.. ehehe well dr manhattan was very eye candy as he was naked all the time....

Nice series Good gay-themed comics are really hard to find.

Though the way you present greek "homosexuality", might of course contradict the main arguments today's LGBT activists field in social or academic discourse. Homosexual behavior as the cultural "norm" doesn't fit well with the argument, that it's an innate and not a learned ("chosen" in the words of anti-gay people) trait.

In general, I doubt, that you can simply apply the modern, western concept of "homosexuality" to historic or even contemporary, non-western societies. There are of course similarities, like the feelings are probably more or less the same, but how they are perceived (even on a personal level) or their personal or societal subsumption probably greatly differ.

Oh and yes, 300 was pretty gay, but if you look at Xerxes in drag, it wasn't just the Spartans

Yay! I was actually just reading through my textbook and they mentioned that homosexuality was rather common in Ancient Greece in general. *laughs*

It's for my AP World class. There's a chapter about homosexuality in almost every chapter

Yeah, but they're the only paragraphs I ever seem to remember because they interest me the most, which isn't exactly good when it comes time for the test DX
