King Sombra is pretty fuckin' scary.How much the fandom underestimates Sombra is hilarious and pathetic in equal measure. While they make Gak jokes, I see how terrifying Sombra really is.
After being suspended a thousand years with their memories wiped, his victims were STILL unable to forget the horrors he brought upon them. Before even seeing his face, when they felt his familiar presence, a few of them were so scared, they were prepared to run out into the frozen tundra to freeze to death.
Take a few steps back and think about how fortunate they were to have sealed him away before he revived himself, and if anyone denies the amount of damage he could cause to Equestria, there's the door, get out, you're an idiot.

This is probably the most grimdark thing I've ever drawn. I like "what if" scenarios, and if Sombra won... well, I wouldn't bet on anypony's deaths (or the death of our poor Twilight here) being without suffering.
Also, yes, that's the Crystal Heart in his "chest."

Its refreshing to something regarding Sombra thats not funny or simply ascetic. He obviously had some bitchin amount of power, to the point where he created a powerful magical artifact on his own. Leaves alot of room for a nice backstory. Well done on the art btw.

Poor Sombra never did get his proper due, but it's too easy to forget that he was based off one of the most evil characters ever: Tolkien's Sauron. Right down to not having too much screen time and being undone by his own item of power, Sombra really is a good parallel to the Dark Lord. Perhaps the most frightening part about King Sombra was the fact that unlike Nightmare Moon or Discord, Sombra was really just a unicorn. He wasn't a god-like entity at all. It's rather likely that only a very few have ever attained that kind of power besides him without achieving some form of "godhood". Heck, even Chrysalis's power relied heavily on just how much love the Changeling could absorb. Sombra? No way man. He don't care about love, all he want's is that sweet, sweet delicious fear. And crystalsssssss. We shouldn't forget the crystalsssss. BUT MOSTLY the fear.
He's also really the only villain ever seen to have legitimately enslaved and abused other ponies. That right there says a good deal about just how truly irredeemable King Sombra was. One shudders to imagine just how severe and harsh his rule of the Crystal Empire likely was.

I love what you did with Twilight, but King Sombra doesn't look evil enough. The eyes just take away from that vibe, in my opinion.

I really like how he slowly drains the color out of twilight; although it would be better if she would slowly turn into shadow too. It is very grimdark and Sombre looks... bigger then life if you get what I mean... His Head looks bloated, which is very good in that case; it has an effect like he has no correct form but still tries to stay in one. Maybe Twilight should have been covered with some black crystals; this was sombres main attack (I think... he rarely did anything, unfortunately), but that is just nitpicking.

He even manages to vanish a city for a thousand years while Luna and Celestia are banishing him. Luna and Discord can't even do that, they just got banished!

Most of the fandom really underestimates King Sombra. Β If he had the chance he could do some real damage. Β It's just too bad we won't see him any more since it was confirmed he was killed.

Did anyone (probably everyone) notice in the season 4 premiere that twilight's horn glowed in a very king sombra way?
I have no idea why I'm not seeing more on this from the fandom, but it's quite interesting and really promises for the rest of the season

Well, it looked exactly the same as when twilight tried to use dark magic to open the door in the king sombra episode. So my geuss is that twilight did get affected by Sombra then and perhaps he will return using twilight as an avatar, a vessel you might say.
If they do that, then Sombra will instantly become my favorite villain, cause that'll just prove that he's not just a pony, but an evil force, much like sauron

I am starting to think my theory isn't gonna happen though, I mean, for now we have the chance of the season villain being the pony of shadows, which may or may not be king sombra. But then I see clips of this alien looking pony with green, tentacle hair that's probably gonna be a villain. Oh well, I'm gonna enjoy the season no matter what they do

I still think he was lacking in presence in The Crystal Empire.Β the door thing was scary, definitely, but we honestly don't see that much of Sombra to truly be terrified of him.

I love the concept of this, though it could have been executed better (no offence), and I can see a lot of potential in this piece of art! In a year or so when you have become better at drawing, consider making a remake of this

YES. I agree with you 100%. I hate how people talk shit about Sombra being the worst villain. In my opinion,he is the most terrifying one. I'd love to see him have more screentime.

They really didn't delve much into King Sombra. Like, we get it that he was an evil pony king and all, but that's all. They had so much that they could explore with him and they just..Β

Finally! Someoen who gets it!
After I saw the episodes a few times, Sombra quickly flew up to my top 5 favorite Villains list ever.
He has so much potential, and you learn about what he is, and no, not from the what you have been seeing, but from what has happened.
He is an awesome villain and you show him proper respect Red.
