Gorgo and Young Godzilla are about the same size so I guess push came to shove it would be an equal fight. Still, Gorgo would have the edge due to having decent claws and teeth while Young Godzilla has fat and....umm...fat.

Hrm....Little Godzilla is actually MOAR useless than Minilla. At least Minilla had his tricks and traps when pressed, Little Godzilla can't really do much aside from scream like a dieing rabbit and coo cutely at adventuring humans. He never show'd any hints at being capable of defending himself in the slightest. Godzilla Jr. on the other hand was a bonafied Gojira in the making and displayed as such despite overwhelming odds.

I will give this to Little Godzilla, his face is more pleasent to look at than Minilla's donkey mug. He actually succeeds at being cute, its too bad he succeeded too much in that regard to the point where he had noth'n to show for it.

Salaruis and his Predatoramon cant stomach human flesh, it gives them such a bad tummy ache that they are effectivly out of commision for about a week till it gets better.

Bringing in someone who is apparently a sort of Ultraman expert as it were might seem like a great idea, but it makes me wonder if he was merely brought in to act as a foil to Matt.

Matt's a pretty swell guy all and all, but I think that sometimes he is rather wishy-washy on things. The guidelines for the contest were very loose. We were supposed to make a convincing and original Ultraman that could effectively replace the mudane mooks we apparently got in that next movie or something. He opened it up to parody Ultramen as well so that further complicated things. Basically the contest entries ranged from a chuck norris ultra, to battle vixen ultras, to supremely orgasmic art ultras to....an evangelion. I'm surprised he even allowed that thing in when he stated 'NO TRACINGS'. It was chaos and there really was no way to guess if an entry was a success or not besides filling in the very general guidelines. Once again, what they were looking for came out of left field and caught a shit load of us by surprise. Apparently the closer to an classic Ultraman it was, the better entry it was. You might has well screwed the background because that wasn't a major deciding point. Hell, the sketchy black and white Ultragirl apparently was seen the best out of all the female entries. Most likley due to her very flat features, simple outline, and elaborate body pattern. Fuzzy lead lines and generic appearance be damned.

Thankfully dino-wanker's entry was properly denounced. Sorta pretty much gave a none too subtle hints that its a trace. The finalists all getting the grandprize together is a bit of a cop out. At this point in the game I think its rather obvious that all things considered, Azure Sirius should have taken first as its just flat out better than everyone else's (despite the mullet). Chaosghidorah's dark Ultra and that one dude's 'aquaman Ultra' could have been placed easily interchangeably at 2nd and 3rd place. The big thing being that The 'aquaman Ultra' had no bio, backstory, or set up once so ever. At the most he should have gotten third or fourth because of it. He didn't plan out his character as much as a lot of us did and I must admit that chafes me a bit.

Personally I think more than two people should have been judging this as a sort of tie breaker. Sorta comes off as very purist when it comes to Ultraman, he thought Eve and Azure were too complicated in design (Eve's hair and Azure's patterns). Matt is very artistically opinionated but very neutral when it comes to the Ultra designs. I really think a more creative and adventuresome voice could have provided more of a sounding board for Matt to bounce off of in combination with Sorta. I can understand Sorta's need to keep the Ultra looking like well...Ultra, but admittedly he comes off rather close minded because of it. I never figured Eve's hair piece to be all that complicated. I'd rather she had several extra points beyond the usual 1-2-3 then have her look like she's packing a microwave on her head or having the usual cone. Its hard to tell if she's a woman or not without some kind of ornamentation. They made good points about her anatomy though. As far as my ability to render digitally, I'm still learning like most everyone else. I'll get up to his insanely easy looking yet complicated painting skill sooner or later. Its not like I'm packing Corel Painter.

I have overall mixed opinions of the results. I didn't expect to win outright though placing would have been nice. I think the entire premise needs improvement because once again, people didn't know exactly what they wanted? What was the problem? What was the solution they were looking for? No one knew. With the create a kaiju contest, it was the kaiju that had direct ties to the Godzilla series and actually presented an in series threat very much like Destoroyah did. Basically we were told to just go wild and make a kaiju. Basic premise of its boundaries and entry components were given but there was no grading standard. None of us had a single clue other than 'make a kaiju'. If he had said "Make a kaiju that would be an original creation with seamless ties to the Godzillaverse and be a respectable opponent against Godzilla, not too weak or too strong, colored, origins, strengths & weaknesses, and is unique to the Godzillaverse." then we'd have something to aim toward and the one that got the closest would win. Just 'make a kaiju' is a test in creativity. Shimaku wouldn't have won that one anyway but damn If wouldn't have known what to do a lot better.

The same problem occured in this contest. We were told to make an original and unique Ultraman and thats exactly (save one stupid fuck) what we did. How well we did that should have seriously been taken into account. Instead it was judged on how close we came to the original and just how good we were at rendering the concept while adding a little twist to it to keep things interesting. It could have been much worse though let me tell you. If that tracing puke would have so much as placed I would have raised high hell and declared both the judges mentally and legally incompetant. Matt doesn't always communicate very well in terms of what he wants from his contest but at least he recognizes a sham when he sees it. Sorta gets points for being almost brutally honest about it.

*sigh* Lesson to be learned? Never be satisfied with what you've made, push yourself further and further with each one, drill the basics into your bones, and be open to change and advice. I'm taking this a lot better than I did the first contest I tried let me tell you. I'm very happy he at least gave us feedback on the entries so we could figure out what to work on. I need better anatomy and coloring skills. Known that for awhile but it puts things into perspective.

Srsly, you check out some of the vids on YouTube and the way they get him is utterly hilarious. He supposedly dissolves but the way they did it involved having foamy shit sprayed all over him. He pretty much died from taking a bath.
