Description
Part 1 of 5-Not enabling Motion Blur and Ambient Occlusion will make your game lag less.
-Making the Depth of Field #Sample a higher number will increase the accuracy at which AO and dynamic shadows are rendered, but will take longer to render.
-HDR allows you to fiddle around with the Tone Scale (AKA how dark or light a scene is). Non-HDR maps' lighting looks like crap and doesn't allow Tone Scaling.

When I load a map I the map except a few things are invisible in lots of random places, and will only show if I look a certain direction.

Hey, this is my first time trying out sfm and my brother told me to look at your tutorials. I'm trying to do the first step where you right click and render settings but every time I right click, nothing appears. And yes, I am clicking it in the main view port. Do you possibly know what the problem is?

I had a similar problem, try launching the SDK when Steam asks you to launch just the application or the kit. If it doesn't work either, try verifying the cache files of the game (right-click on the name of the game > Properties > Local files > Verify files or something like that).

You must have spawned under the map. Look around you to find the map.

it also says on launch of sfm teir0.dll or something isn't there. could that be the problem? or is that just a bug?

this is why i can't have nice things D:

Seriously? That's uncalled for.
I told you, I didn't want to be limited like that. You can disagree with me all you want, but you should not be disrespecting my decisions like that.
But that is one of the reasons I gave up on SFM, but only one of them.

I was just making an example. I don't hate you, but I don't necessarily like you either. Plus, I'm not limiting you, you're limiting yourself.

I fail to understand how using more maps is "limiting".
Besides, it wasn't just the HDR maps, all of my maps were brighter than they should be.

Except there are two problems:
1. I no longer use SFM for several reasons, including the lighting issue. I thought I mentioned that.
2. This doesn't help me with posing, and there are ways of replicating SFM's posing.

mattwo In reply to Robogineer [2013-02-12 20:32:52 +0000 UTC]
It tells you HOW to pose. And then it says "Try to go for a natrual looking pose"
How does that help me, who already knows how posing works? And the rest only applies to SFM... and doesn't really help with any poses that can't be made with those animations.

I have trouble learning like that honestly, in fact I think I've done that sort of thing before and it wasn't much help if I recall correctly, I do have an example of that off the top of my head but it was on SFM on a non-HDR map, so I'll spare your eyes.

Just how many times to I have to remind you I've quit SFM for several reasons?
I'm sorry if I'm sounding rude here but I just don't understand how you keep missing that point.
Is it because I mentioned it being on SFM? It's an old pic...

SOmetimes, even if some TF2 maps that actually have HDR. You convert them to be SFM compatible.... sometimes they don't get the HDR.

When I loaded my map... it was very bright... like it was from a poorly shaded comic book... is it my graphics card or did I do something wrong?

In the first panel, do you see the tab that says "Enable Lighting"? That's probably where your problem is.
