-Size- 18x24 inches

-Description-

This is a hard one to have concrete description because I did this free style mostly at night time… a sketch of it came first with absolutely no thought of meaning. The pen sketch was a project for 2d design for a surrealisms project (the teacher kind of picked a good subject for once ) When we did critic on the sketch of my work that looked very alike to this painting. Several students explained that this painting felt to them that the artist who did this was confused, slightly sad. Also that he had a lot of things in his mind atm… and also slightly isolated… and like my life is still under construction in a way.

That is what they said basically and they got my state of mind in that moment in time and that is why I decided to paint it.

While I was painting it I realized that this painting did have that feeling they described but than I looked into the painting more and saw that I basically painted my family…

I have 3 brothers but one brother is in another city in his own house so I did not add him in…

The painting has two males one male is tided by a rope to the middle mask which is female the rope is put like an infinity sign forever love. (My mother and father) the far left face is my brother. And I am in my fathers mouth the little green character. The white path crosses through the mouths of all meaning we are all in the same path we still live together. And my father still has a lot of advice to give me so in a way he has a lot of say about decision I make in life still… the rope that ties the right male mask to the ground by wooden pole means he is still very much in charge of us and he is tied to the ground more than my mom and brother to job...

Surrealisms is your unconscious and I think in this painting some how I did that… because I really did not think of prior feeling or actually planed it… it just came to me.

Some things I still can not explain are the paint bucket and the boat… or the shallow water… The bucket is half explained to me I think it means that I have left many things in my life unfinished un painted… and yes I have left some of my art works for a year or so not finished… and just now I am getting to finish them.

Hmm.. looks kind of similar to the way Dali paints. Remnds me of the "Burning Giraffe" painting he did.

Exceptional work, very much so. This one deserves my all time +Favs. It reminds me alot of Salvador Dali. I could picture him painting something like this after taking a heroic dose of Payote... Good work.

One thing I would like to talk to you about if you have the time, please email me at Broken18@aol.com or contact me via this site.

Thanks

thanks everyone all these awesome comments have only made me want to make more art Thanks I was sorta in slump like a month ago and finally started again... and well the words of all of you have made me try harder and get more art works done.

BTW currently I am not in an Art school of any sort taking some basic art classes in a county college and I am building up my art portfolio till I can start to apply to some schools... the one in my mind right now is SVA in New York city looks like a very cool art school so far So i guess you will kinda see my art portfolio in development in the next one year for the art school My missions is to really impreess the future art school I decided to go to... So I am taking my time in building up my talent...

Thanks again for the comments of all of you I enjoyed them a lot through out this day

This is indeed an excellent piece of work. The technical aspect of the painting was so nicely done. I love the different textures and all of the detail. The water is very nicely done, and the stairs too. The face masks themeselves are really well illustrated. Each with an emotion, all connected. Your description of the piece really lets me attach myself to the piece. Your ideas behind it a very cool, and it really made me stare at this for at least 5-10mins, just thinking and listening to music. A very deep piece, it looks great.
