When I was younger, I had no idea what the hell a Mijinion was, and this was when I was only 13 years old. It wasn't until years later that I learned that a Mijinion is a water flea, which is a seldom-seen species. Probably one of the very few instances you'll see one in a video game, much less any form of media.

Haha, I still didn't know what a Mijinion was! I remember reading an article saying they were really stuck for maverick ideas for X6.

Ahh, Mijinion. Not only (debatably) the most annoying boss (to fight, not to listen to *coughcoughFlameHyenardcough*) in the series, and not only with the best apparent song tribute in the series, but also one of two mavericks that it took me forever to figure the origin of. You crazy Daphnia you.
I think I was the one to bring the fact that he was a daphnia (instead of a flea) to the Mega Man wikia, but don't quote me on that.
I put out a Joy, but it's an apprehensive joy...apprehensive to fight him again that is, haha.

I really liked his design, and Mega Man X 6 really pushed the boundaries with the villain animals and their weapon theme. THe thought that he could quite literally split himself infinitely seems like such a cool idea for a villain.
Yeah, I always wondered what creature he was, I'd never heard of 'mijinion' before! What was the other maverick you couldn't figure out?
Thanks!

I posted the other confusion dudes in my other reply there as you mentioned one of them in it, but yeah, I can post it here, too, if only for those others reading commentary posts in the future - there were two, actually.
Splash Warfly (who I forgot about having incorrectly deduced his origins) I always thought was a mayfly due to his name and his extreme gangliness. I thought his water theme was a reference to a mayfly's larval stage; in the end, I guess I looked too highly upon his concept (in the same manner, I expected Gravity Antonion to be weak to Snipe Anteator's weapon). Turns out he's a flying fish.
The other one was everyone's major conundrum back in the day -- Boomer Kuwanger. I had no idea what he was, but the netfolks started stating he was a cockroach, which I believed until semi-recently when I found out he was actually intended to be a stag beetle (I think I found that out when Maverick Hunter X was released).

One of my favorite songs of all time. It made playing his level so much funner.
