Description
I drew this based off images from songs by String Cheese Incident. This was my second drawing in this style. I was looking to bring a bit more meaning to my work after my first drawing, and although I accomplished that I was not completely satisfied with the results...the images are more blocked off and seperate from each other, which a lot of people tend to be drawn towards, however that just doesnt quite satisfy my ADD tendencies....hahaRelated content

Damn, I would love to have this as an album cover. It flows so smoothly. It's aesthetically orgasmic.

exceeellent, i love the japanese sun, this is awesome

thanks for your nice comments. Actually yeah, i just use pen and ink for em....I enjoy it and i feel that its more challenging doing this with pen and ink rather than paints because you cant screw up with these or the whole drawing would be ruined....with paints you could just add another layer and keep goin....i dont know...haha
anyway, thanks again glad you like em

Have you ever thought of using Sgraffitto or Pointillism? (scratching or dots)

rrgreg In reply to darkartificer [2004-03-08 07:11:33 +0000 UTC]
actually i use poitillism in most of my work....even in this one, down at the bottom....in ekoostik hookah the tree is made of dots, in Joker the entire background is thousands upon thousands of dots...yeah, i use em a lot

ah, it must be the fact that i'm not looking close enough at it or I'm meaning -just- doing pointilism on a piece. Eh, whichever

ah, gotcha -- well no....i've got a cousin (who has no arms....weird huh?) who is an amazing artist who just uses pointilism....i just like using pointilism to give a different texture and consistency of a nice mottled grey tone to really set itself as a middle ground between white and black.
I saw you were from dallas....i'm from plano....goin to college at baylor right now. small world.

Your pictures remind me of folktales and surrealism. Salvador Dali, too, comes to mind. Why must you torment my mind so with such spools of black and white?
