The sun coming through those clouds is gorgeous!

It's actually the moon! The sun had just set to the right of this photo so the sky was still quite blue and the moon rose shining bright. The light in the clouds just above the trees is actually lightning striking inside the clouds.

That makes so much more sense! Though it also means my comment was correct in a way, because my favorite part of the shot is the sun-lighting in the lower right of the clouds. I just couldn't figure out how that was working, like if the clouds were just amazingly dense in-between the two light-flares or what. ^.^
