Ah, that's such a good fable. A friend of mine based her animation thesis around it, and it came out really amazing.
I like Bill's take on it here. Very true how all we really have is small pieces of understanding here and there but never the whole picture.

I would love to see that. Has it been released anywhere?
What we know is very, very small compared to what we don't know.
Max Planck is one of my favourite scientists ever. He discovered the black body quantum effect and, through a series of experiments, he determined equations that described the phenomenon. He then stated that everything he knew about physics told him that this should not happen. He had no explanation for it; he just described what he observed and alerted the scientific community that a phenomenon existed that was beyond their comprehension. (BTW, the solution to that one eventually came from a young clerk from the Swiss Patent Office named Albert Einstein. )

Ah, sadly no. ): It was a college thesis film, so pretty much the only copies available are what she herself owns. ^^
That's so very true. And Max Planck sounds so cool! ^.^

Ah. And it would be rather expensive for me to go to your college if they were ever to showcase it in a film festival of past students' work... and impossible for now, as I don't have a visa.
I can just imagine him scratching his head and thinking: "This happens. I know it happens, I've quantified *how* it happens. But *why* does this happen?"

Aww...I'll see if I can't find a copy of it somewhere. ^^ I know the folks who made it and could contact them...it may even be up on Youtube. I wouldn't be surprised if he did just that. X)
