Full view will give you... *ahem* ...the full view!I had the idea of drawing anthro versions of the six main characters of Azumanga Daioh as anthros. The tufts of hair at the top and sides of Kagura's face made me think of her as a tigress, so here she is.
This is the one I'm most satisfied with so far and, consequently, the only one I've inked and scanned so far. Yomi and Sakaki are far from finished. The next one I ink, scan, and present just might be Yomi, although it's possible that it could be Chiyo or Osaka.

You're right... those tufties are like a tiger... Never thought of that before. I like her 'determined/energetic but friendly' look, it really suits her character. She definately seems to be the wildcat type.

Indeed she does.
Thank you for your insightful comments!
At one time I wondered if Kagura might not be a redundant character, but she isn't. While she is often as rowdy and hyper as Tomo, she is neither as thoughtless nor as careless. She cares about the consequences of her actions, she is generally willing to help people (even if she can't understand them, like the gaijin at the train station ) and actually wants to learn (IT, reindeer, etc.) although she's not particularly good at studying... (LEADER!!
)
...actually, a student with the discipline and determination of Kagura, the intellect of Osaka, and the energy and enthusiasm of Tomo would leave Chiyo in the dust. Unfortunately, that would also leave someone with the discipline of Tomo, the energy and enthusiasm of Osaka, and the intellect of Kagura...

Sometimes I think Kagura's determination in sports is actually a compensation for the lack of intellect. Perhaps she feels that sports is all she's really good at, and thrives on it. She did once say that sports stress her out, even though she loves it, if I recall correctly.
...Those bonkura mixes... I'd love to meet them one day XDD

Of all the six, the one I think would be best suited to the Girl Scouts would be Kagura. Who knows, maybe she is with the Girl Scouts of Japan, which is organized more in neighbourhoods than in schools.

A tiger definitely works for Kagura from what I've seen of her!
Her hairstyle is almost tiger-like!
Great idea! And nice job on this anthro version of her!

You're welcome.
No worries...I'm kind of wondering the same of myself at the moment, to be sure.

I can understand replies several weeks late during a bad month, but my replies were more than six months late... What a good thing I finished the series, or I might never have found them to answer them...
Moral of the story: I *really* need to clean out my messages box. I tend to leave interesting ones and ones where the answer requires thought up, but 516 is rather bad, especially when one can only see the last 25...

Heh...yeah, I suppose that's kind of bad...although granted I kind of do the same thing...I do it with journal entries too, that I liked and wanted to keep the direct links too.
