Description Having submitted an anti-Chevrolet bumper sticker, I figured I should temper it by submitting my anti-Ford avatar...

Unlike the Chevy logo on the bumper sticker, which I drew myself on squared paper from memory, I copied the Ford logo from somewhere, I don't remember where.

Actually, I am a bit of a Ford fan; mostly Ford GB / Ford Europe, though.

My brother, who owned a Cortina, endorsed the Ford anagram:

Fix
Or
Repair
Daily

...while my other brother, who had a Ford Explorer and forsook it for a Honda Accord, endorsed this one:

Found
On
Road
Dead

Besides the Cortina and the Explorer, Fords in the family included an uncle who had at least two Cortinas, a British Granada, and a Laser (rebadged Mazda 323) before defecting to Nissan for his last car, another uncle who had a Mustang and at least one other (either a Cortina or a British Granada) before switching to Peugeot cars and Nissan SUVs, and a sister who had an Anglia 105E with the sloped-in roof that looked a lot better than it drove.

We did have a Holden Brougham once that was very big and very comfortable. A policeman hit it at over 100 mph and totaled it. My brother bought his Cortina with the insurance from the Holden, and about 15 years later his widow sold it after he died.

I remember my brother occasionally being angry for his Cortina's frequent need for overhauls; it was he, while still driving his Cortina (he still owned it when he died), who introduced me to the "Fix Or Repair Daily" label. He usually liked his car, though. So did I.

At one time in the '70s or '80s, just about all of my relatives drove Fords. Now none of them do. However, that is more due to the dealer mostly bringing in big, expensive, left-hand-drive pickup trucks (not too practical in a former British colony that drives on the left and has narrow city streets) than to us not wanting Fords. We used to get British Fords here in the '70s and '80s: Escorts, Cortinas, Sierras, Granadas. Fiestas too, I think. But no Focuses, no Kas, no Mondeos. I guess they just won't sell against cheaper Japanese cars, both new and used.

There were a lot of Ford Kas in Mexico when I went there last year. I'd want one of those (in right-hand-drive, at any rate). One of the first generation ones anyway, I hear the new ones aren't all that great.

As for the "No Chevrolet Parts" banner, I just think a Ford should be a Ford and not have a Chevy engine in it.
