Description
The fourth Led Zeppelin album is officially untitled. Apart from its cover design, the only distinguishing marks it has on it arefour symbols, each representing a member of the band. Jimmy Page's symbol is last. It is a stylized Sagittarius symbol, but it looks like lettering that reads "Zoso".Those symbols inpired me to create four symbols of my own, each one for a specific character in Azumanga Daioh. They are shown above.
The second should be immediatedly obvious to fans of AMD. Unlike the fourth of the Led Zeppelin symbols, the fourth of these is meant to be read!
I am looking forward to your guesses!

I can guess the second one, but other than that...I'm a tad stumped.
I think the first one might be Yomi though...those look a bit like glasses.
Either way though, these are really clever and this is definitely a very original and unique idea! Nice job!

Correct on the first and the second!
Now, tell me what the third one looks like, and what the fourth one appears to say...

Well...the third one looked like a chain link...or an inverted sort of infinity symbol. Ooo, or a money sign! ^^ Are any of those close?
The fourth looks like it reads as "Baka"...the Japanese term for "fool" or "idiot"...but I wouldn't know off-hand which character that would exactly fit to.

Hint: The third sign is actually a symbol rotated through 180° and superimposed on itself...
The fourth does read as you say it does.

Oooo...it looks like a question mark! Oh, is it Osaka then...since she kind of daydreams and doesn't always know what's going on?
Still not sure about the 4th one though as I'm not sure which one of them would qualify as a Baka...unless this is for one of the teachers... *sweatdrop*

Osaka it is!
I'm not sure which one of them would qualify as a Baka...
Baka... an idiot, an imbecile, someone who does stupid and insane things... now who could that be? (actually, that could be one of the teachers, but in this instance it isn't...)

Heh...I'm not quite sure who then...I might not have watched enough episodes to guess the character...I did think it was one of the teachers, but you said it isn't...
At least I got Osaka!
Now for the last one...think think think... ^^

Think about someone who doesn't think. Think about someone who talks and acts without thinking.

Errrr....I'm totally drawing a blank...er well, there's that one teacher that kind of fits that bill...but I can't recall her name.

Well as I said over AIM, I think these are really clever! It was fun trying to guess each one...cause I totally suck at that kind of stuff But great job on these! Don't worry, I won't spoil the answers

Oooh, interesting. These are clever... maybe too clever for my pea-sized brain ;
The first one reminds me of a pair of glasses... and for some reason to me portrays anger and sadness... I think it's the slanted line on top. My guess... is Yomi-san, perhaps? When she's hurt she tends to explode with anger, and the larger circle looks 'angrier' than the smaller 'sad' circle. And she wears glasses, lol.
I think the second might be Chiyo-chan because it looks like her, with her cute lil' pigtails. It's very simple to imitate, portraying Chiyo-chan's childish and naive nature. It's also very charming and appealing to the eye, which, of course, represents her undeniable cuteness.
The third... as has already been said, is two questionmarks intertwined, which symbolises confusion and curiosity, and there's only one character that fits that symbol perfectly... Osaka-san! It's also pretty complicated to draw, which might stem from her complicated and sometimes rather dark thoughts.
The last one sort of looks like 'Saka' which makes me think of Sakaki-san. The cursive nature of it may symbolise her delicate ego, and it also looks complicated. However, it isn't too complex really; this symbolises her rather menacing exterior and simple, child-like interior.
I'm not sure if I'm right, but that's my take on it ;;;

The first one indeed represents glasses and anger, and as such is the symbol for Yomi.
The second is indeed Chiyo.
No doubrt about it, the third one is Osaka!
However, you might want to take a better look at the first letter in the fourth one; it's not a "S"...
I commend you for seeing a lot more symbolism in these symbols than I thought was there.

Oh, I see it now. I was stupid to think that was an 'S'... it says 'Baka' doesn't it? And everybody calls Tomo-san the 'baka', so therefore... it's her? The cursive could represent her 'innocent' look, and the word represents... well... her. As she says "B... Baka janai zo!"
Not sure about that, but when I looked at it again, it looks more like 'Baka' than 'Saka' XD; What was I thinking?

Yep, "Baka", the Japanese word most often associated with Tomo... XD
This: [link] was the inspiration for these symbols, although I had an incorrect memory of the "Zoso" symbl being on the bottom rather that on the top as seen there...

Whoa... those are intriguing. The "Zoso" one reminds me of a teddy bear for some reason I don't think it matters which order you drew the symbols in, it still rocks.

It was originally a manga that was later made into an anime. I'm more familiar with the anime than with the manga.
The anime is *hilarious*, but it goes beyond that too. It's basically about a group of friends at a high school and their lives through their three years together.

Well, it looks like two question marks inverted and entertwined. So, confusion? Or, more positively, curiosity. It's pretty.

*hint to fans who read this* Both curiosity and confusion, actually.
