Description This was supposed to be my half or an art trade with but it's a failure. Why? Because it was supposed to be in the Polar region and I drew it in the Desert region! Fortunately, I scanned this in grayscale before I coloured the pencil drawing, so I can rework that digitally and change it from the Desert region to the Polar region.

This is my vision of Mahira-chan's Lyoko form: an almost fully vulpine kitsune, whose only human features are the spectacles before her eyes and the hairstyle at the back of her head. She has razor-sharp claws that can dig into the shell of the Krab and hold her position, and that can slice through the Lyoko symbol to deliver a mortal wound.

Her special power, not shown here, is the power of illusion, to make her appear to be where she is not, to make her not appear to be where she is, and to make multiple images of herself. NOTE: This is not like Ulrich's "triplicate" or "triangulate" powers: Ulrich splits himself into three clones that can all attack, Mahira's multiple images are all illusions and have no power to do anything.

She has another weapon, again not shown here: She can virtualize a mallet out of nowhere and crush Roachsters and maybe Waspsters with it.

This is mostly a coloured pencil drawing. I did some digital work on the kitsune in the side panels of the triptych and on the shell of the Krab in the left and middle panels. I also added a border digitally.

~Mahira-chan depicts herself in a humanoid form with one tail. The legend of the kitsune claims that kitsune grow tails as they increase in power. I have seen Mahira-chan's digital art. I have drawn her Lyoko version with three tails.

This is pretty cool on it's own though! I like how you've done it in a sort of comic book/storyboard style. I also like how you've drawn Mahira's Lyoko form. Kitsunes are the coolest!

I can't wait to see the final version of this! It looks really nice...and I now also envy your ability to draw Krabs. It looks so cool! ^_^

Thanks! Actually, this is supposed to be similar to a folding triptych, done in three hinged panels so that the outer two fold inward to close the triptych.

This is the first time I've ever submitted a Krab and, not counting the "Warriors of the Fifth Element" crossover, this is the first time I'm drawing Lyoko.

Sorry I hadn't replied earlier; I got a bit mixed up between different things, one of which was completing the final version of this

^_^ That's okay. I was pretty late in leaving a comment on this piece to begin with. I'm looking forward to that final version!

You're very welcome! You do Lyoko scenes really well. And I really like the Krabe in this! They're so hard to draw! A triptych? Neat! I wouldn't even have thought of that! Usually those, when closed, would have another piece of art displayed on the front...I wonder what would be on the front of this one?

Erm... I did not know that the outside would also have a picture...

I first heard of folding triptychs while looking up the work of Hieronymous Bosch. The site only showed the insides of his triptychs.

I guess if the backing material was really thick, then it'd have bas-relief carvings of the faces of the gang on the other side...

That would be too cool!

Bosch...he's the one who painted "The Garden of Earthly Delights", right? I can't remember if his triptych had an outside picture to it...I suppose not all of them did if they were just to remain open...or perhaps I'm thinking of altarpieces. Oops...

...erm ...maybe, the title sounds familiar.

IIRC, triptychs were carried from church to church, so they was folded up for protection against the elements.

Yep! That's definitely true! I ought to check my old art history books about Bosch...I think that's the one he did.

I based the look on your deviation "Wha..."

The official one will look rather much like this but done digitally and featuring the Polar region instead of the Desert region.

I've taken a little detour since, but I *will* get back to it this week.

Glad you like it so far!
