Inspired by Code Lyoko by Antefilms Ltd. and Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.Aelita is shown here playing a recorder.
This is the first time I am drawing Aelita in her Lyoko outfit.
Yes, I know it's blotchy. When I figure out how to clean it up, I'll do so.
EDIT: I have made the picture 1/4-size (half-length, half-width) and added some lines to make her nose more visible.

When I was trying to figure out who my favourite character was, I narrowed it down to Jeremy, Yumi and Aelita. I eventually realized that my favourite character was Yumi, mostly because of her complex emotions and expression thereof.
Aelita's agility reminds me of Peter Pan, her goal and her sense of wonder remind me of Pinocchio, but her morality is all her own. She has a wicked sense of humour, too...

I tried to do a medeival-style border. I now have an idea of what you mean about the cherry blossoms. I finished up little more than half the border before I scanned the drawing. I flipped the finished half of the border to form the other half... I coloured all the leaves individually, which, as you know better than I, is a pain!

Yep. Thanks! The leaves do look like they were worth it, I guess. I need some of that patience to work on her face, though. In the preview she looks like she has no nose! The full view reveals otherwise, but it's HUGE! Maybe I should make it 1/4 the size (half the height, half the width)?

I have so much trouble with DA on picture size. Small pictures look huge when full-viewed if they're not set right and big pictures stay the preview size if they're left too big or too small. XD *gags* It's annoying...1/4 the size should do it. That's usually what I try to set my pictures to. *grumbles more about picture sizes*
