Eyes should be a little bigger but that's a minor complaint.
As for the rest, you pretty much nailed it, the shading is perfect, the expression is priceless, and it just all fits together perfectly. 
But like I said, the eyes need to be bigger because gollum is a character that is completely modeled over expression, so it really makes a huge difference on the character. But I do kinda like the fact that since his eyes are smaller it makes it look like he's still going through the changes of corruption. Hope this doesn't offend you, So keep it up. Β

This is fantastic (I speak as a big fan of Hobbit/LOTR).Β The way you have used sparing, carefully-placed brush strokes to depict texture is impressive.Β It's also great to see such a high resolution image--this would be great wallpaper!Β I wonder if perhaps "Smeagol" would have been a better title for the piece than "Gollum" though...?Β His expression isn't conniving in this piece.Β The part of his personality that is servile and gentle shines through for me here, although you have cleverly used lighting and shadows to hint at the darkness of the character.
Not much to critique here.Β There seems to be something a little off about his left arm where it connects to the shoulder--the shading around the join would probably benefit from being a bit softer and more gradual.Β Other than that, it's an all-over great picture that will have a place in my Favourites folder.

Good expression and lighting/shading. Only criticism is that the right eye is a little off, but I'm one to talk because that's the very reason I can't draw people. Other than that, Β

I kinda like the fact his eyes aren't symmetrical, as nobody has a perfect face.
For example: Your right eye may be bigger or slightly curved, a nostril more closed then the other.

Great painting! I'd check the positioning of his eyes though, they seem a little off, perhaps too much of the side of his face is visible on the left side. Also, perhaps adding some more detail to the hair, maybe using a thin brush and drawing in some individual strands to add some finer details. Overall, a great painting, and instantly recognisable as the character gollum

This is a really nice piece! Β You've got a good sense of anatomy and design for Gollum's head and face. Β I'm going to suggest you try broadening your range of contrast though. Β Try adding brighter highlights in his eyes and add highlights more in general. Β You've really got it down on the left side of his face but you start to loose the contrast to blending as we get to the left of the image. Β Also, I suggest you try experimenting with different colors to use for highlights and shadows. Β I can tell you tried blue in the shadows, and that's a good start!Β

Really amazing! The shadows are done beautifully, and the little splash of blue in the eyes looks lovely as well. The face is structured perfectly as well.
Frankly, the only thing I can suggest is to lighten the piece up a bit. It seems a little dark to me, but other than that, awesome work! The way you did his skin was especially good!
