Description
This was Concept/Commission #12Concept was for a Massive double barreled Pistol firing what is in essence a Miniaturized WH40K bolt like projectile (may upload that detail & cut away image later).
Though I'm quite proud of some parts of this image, some of it still irks me and I'll probably be nitpicking on parts into infinity. Projectile is 21x60mm Gyrojet round with a cartridge based Kicker/Ignitor/Unseating charge.

Over/Under Bolt pistol, I remember seeing something somewhere about this in relation to a character someone made for W40k

It is not suppossed to be a shotgun, but a self-propeller round, like a bolter from warhammer 40k

In Warhammer 40k realities this is often the only way to be sure that your enemy is dead. Sometimes this is not even enough.

It looks like it has far more kick-charge behind each bolt than a bolter, too.Β That'll be a great help to make up for the short barrels.Β Though, I don't know if you intended it that way.

This is awesome! I've always had a soft spot for wicked big pistols! I doubt this thing would break your arm on firing though. I've one handed a 12 gauge with 3" magnum slugs and did fine, besides the gyrojet would mean less initial kick. I don't think gyrojets turned out to be that effective back in the day when they were actually made, but with modern or post modern materials you might be able to get it to work.

...i like it! I don't usually like hand cannons, and most drawings of them add the sin of impossibility, but I like this!

It looks good...but Gyrojet rounds are in a word crap. A heavier lock for the break action would be a good idea and if it were say a .357/.38 special or a 30-30 would be good.

I want one. I'd love to get my hands on some schematics for this thing, except maybe chamber it in 12-gauge or perhaps .50AE. Only change I'd make would be to flip the fire selector order; rather than the single shot being on top, I'd put it in the middle. That way, if you're in a tense situation and you wanna go both barrels, you don't risk accidentally putting the safety on.

Because the round is rocket based, does that mean that the weapon would be recoiless like the Gyrojet weapons?

Brilliant.
I'm assuming your fire-selector switch on the top profile decides whether the trigger fires both barrels simultaneously or singly? I'dv expected a double-trigger instead, but nevermind

Of course, one of the reasons the Gyrojet never made it is because it was so inaccurate.

in the future guidence systems will correct this, as well as proved a sort of "homing bullet" function
