Starting on the 4th of October 1997, BBC Alba redesigned their animated startup slide, the same concept was there (blurred COW Globe and the bilingual notice), but the bilingual notice's font was changed from Futura to Gill Sans (with the Scottish language version of the notice re-translated) and the 1997-2008 BBC Alba logo.

It would also be shown in Widescreen starting in 1998.

It lasted 10 years on-air with it coming to an end on the 18th of September 2008 on the final full day of BBC Alba's original form, as a retool/revamp would happen at 5:00pm the very next day, thus bringing an end to BBC Alba starting up at 6:00am for good with countdowns taking the place of the startup slide.

Library music still played over it, but towards the end of it's lifespan (2007-08), Against the Clock and Primary were phased out from being heard over it, despite them being rather popular with viewers.
