Description

The large, all-purpose astromech droid, with a chromium-plated hull and a retractable third leg CΒ§-C4 model hat it’s primary functions include maintenance and repair of starships, as well as managing hyperdrive systems and navigation, however the Sunsystems Droidworks (SD) models build for the Separatist Retail Caucus were specialized models. They were secretly using more modern, smaller compartments, either to create smaller Astromech Droids that then could be stored and transported in larger numbers, for the fraction of the regular costs with some aid by the Techno Union. At the same time Retail Caucus actually had such droids build with the regular frame as well, so they could use this bigger versions spare compartments for the smuggling of either illegal goods, or simply regular ones to avoid taxation on them, thereby further increasing the overall credit profit they could possibly make with these hyperspace travels across worlds, systems and the Galaxy at large. Thanks to this, many smugglers, bounty hunters, mercenaries and other criminals like bandits, gang members and space pirates soon favored these droids in various outer model shells and coloring to make them blend in with their ships, houses, factories and other buildings of operations, which meant that they became famous during the Separatist Crisis and the Clone Wars, especially in the Outer Rim, even outside the Separatist Alliance and Confederacy of Independent Systems companies, conglomerates and member worlds, or species. The Ce-Tri-Ce-Foa, Ce-Ce, or Tri-Foa droids as they were nicknamed therefore became not only a stable in the Rim, but also an object of hate and dissent among police, militia, army and overall security forces, while overall also worsening the view of droids in general as untrustworthy, criminal and backstabbing even more so then the Clone Wars themselves already did. Not only that the C3-C4-S Smuggling version soon came with a new subversion the C3-C4-PS, which specialized on smuggling individuals, including smaller droids, people and even larger goods in an internal compartment, which could fit smaller to medium species, even if the larger ones only as long as they cowered into the belly/ torso of the astromech.

This way the C3-C4-PS could even be used for break-ins, bombings and assassinations, either directly, by planting the right materials to explode into their compartments, or put the bounty hunters, assassins, spies and saboteurs themselves directly into these droids, allowing for their special alloy hull plating to help them not only blend in, but also hide from most regular scanners with it. While certain special and more advanced military and intelligence scanners of high security installations could most likely easily still get trough this droid outer plating and hull, most regular civil and even public and company versions, even on otherwise modern worlds, outside of the Core and Colonies were often not as advanced, while in the Core Worlds and the Colonies, the sheer number of organics and droids opened up a whole other possible route of infiltrating and operating in these worlds and systems. Sometimes however the opposite was true, as first the Hutt Cartels and later others began to use this droids to extract certain people unnoticed. Either by transporting them knowingly, for which the C3-C4-BT version actually had a hidden Bacta Tank on the inside and the C3-C4-IV version actually had means to keep someone in suspended animation and stasis to not only smuggle unwilling individuals better, but to also further hide their life signals and life support needs. This way the special versions of the C3-C4 began to become one of the most efficient smuggling droids the Galaxy had ever seen, resulting in their wide spread across the Galaxy, with fewer numbers in the Core Worlds and Colonies and increasing numbers in the lesser populated Rim Worlds. Because the various sub-models produced for war and criminal intentions, droid builders, droid mechanics and others skilled enough to further modify these droids had a blast with their various models, so that after a few years and decades, no two ones in the Rim were truly alike and many could even surprise law and security experts thanks to the different modifications and abilities put into them over time. This way they managed to best even the most skilled experts that otherwise could easily out, fight, stop and prevent such droid smuggling, infiltration and assassination attempts.
